Man U Vs Wigan ** Carling Cup Final **spoilers**

This is the final year we could get a reasonble amount of money for RVN, i personally believe that with a pacey striker aaka saha we play much more fluently and it compliments rooney and ronaldo games.

RVN is a quality goal scorer no question but right now he is not the right player to get Manchester united back to were we should be.

just as i was reading on sky sports that ruud has said how he loves it here and wants to repay the faith showed in him

then he gets a slap in the face like this, ffs if he leaves we really are screwed. Sure we have a goal scorer in rooney, but we need a goal poacher like RvN, hes an awesome finisher

fergies head on a stick if this results in him going tbh

Man UTD overjoyed with carling Cup win, oh how the mighty have fallen. ;)

It was only a few years back when Man UTD fans were cockily telling me how domestic trophies were 'mickey mouse' cups and that the Champions League was where it's at.

True, I still think that, but priorities change when you are no longer in the big competitions. I'm glad Rooney has his first medal now. The players look really happy and I liked the Smith tribute t-shirts.

Van the man is on his way out, something has obviously happened off the pitch or before the game, he looked royally pee'd off and I don't blame him. Ferguson hasn't shown his best striker any loyality by not playing him in our only chance of a medal this season. :(

Disgusting ...Ferguson!

Saha is not the way forward for us, a proper midfield with players in their actual preferred positions with Rooney and RVN up front is the way forward.

Saha is good and can score, but anyone in the same position would have scored. I don't think he compliments Rooney or Ronaldo at all.

Are you joking? Saha is our worst attacking player for slowing up fluent attacking moves. He dwells on the ball, doesn't see simple through balls that would set our wingers or other forwards free and can't finish for toffee.

Saha has no strength and gets bundled off the ball, Ruud can hold it up, play slick passes and one-twos and has the sharpest finishing in the box in the Premiership (imo).

If we are left with Saha as our main attacking option we will be languishing mid-table I guarantee it. RvN isn't the league's top goal scorer for nothing.

Miguel - yes Saha has been better because he's actually had a run in the team but he's still far from MUQ imo. I've yet to see him score a goal to make my jaw drop and most of his goals are half meant scuffs or slices. Ruud has scored one of the best goals this season so far (chest control, pivot, top corner) and imo should be one of our first names on the teamsheet along with Rooney and VdS.

Half decent performance from United, and Wigan are crushed, its a testiment to the poor quality football being played in the Prem at the minute that they are where they are.

Exactly, the quality of the football played in the premiership this season has been dire.
Patrick Barclay also mentioned on Radio 5 that rather that diving being the worst thing in English football, it's the type of football being played, the time wasting, the kicking/fouling that certain teams employ that is far worse.

Yeah i said to my mate about Rudd possibly being on his ay out :(

Saha might score but the number of chances he also wastes is pretty large and he seems to get the ball stuck under his feet a lot to.

At first i thought the T shirt ronaldo was wearing was going to be about his Father, since he was the first to put it on but was a nice sentiment for it to be about Smithy

Also for a shock where was Fergies Love child Fletcher? He wasnt even on the bench :D

With RVN for the last 5 seasons in the quest to win the champs league we have resorted to 4-5-1 to fit him in.

Last season we played out best attacking football when he was out e.g. Arsenal away

This season we are much more fluid with saha, and to call him a poor player is rather amusing.

Saha may not be the answer but i for one and almost all the streford enders prefer seeing quick fluid football which Rvn can not do.

Can only play one big star for the future in a game, today it was O'Shea. The thought of both on the pitch, it's just unbearable to think of the talent there.

Good game. Credit to both teams played in a good spirit. At least Wigan didnt try and make it a drab affair by stifling the game with ten men behind the ball at all times and try and snatch it. It can be argued that tactic played into UTD's hands. Credit to the ref as well. Made a few mistakes(He is human) but let the game play and allowed it to flow along nicely

As for the team selection it did suprise me that RVN didnt get a start. I truly hope it's nothing too serious because if we are in the Champions league next year I would prefer a player with his eurpean goal scoring record and pedigree playing for us rather than against us

Are you joking about the 4-5-1 to fit RVN in?? The 4-5-1 formation is not to fit any player in. Ferguson tinkers with the tactics and messes the midfield around, and Ruud finds it hard to score, not exactly his fault is it? We play our best attacking football 4-4-2. It has always suited Van Nistelrooy and the rest of the team and Ferguson has changed it in the past for no reason whatsoever. Van Nistelrooy isn't the only player to be affected by the 4-5-1 crap.

I'd rather have Van Nistelrooy and his prolific goalscoring than a player who said

"I thought it would be easy coming to United and winning medals. You might not play well but you'd get a medal anyway. But it hasn't happened."
