Man U Vs Wigan ** Carling Cup Final **spoilers**

I'd rather have Van Nistelrooy and his prolific goalscoring than a player who said

"I thought it would be easy coming to United and winning medals. You might not play well but you'd get a medal anyway. But it hasn't happened."

God, I just read that comment. Saha needs a slap.

Am i joking? NO, i dont care what saha says as long as he plays well on the pitch, hes not at manchester united to play for us out of pride and passion hes there to win medals and the same can be said for 80 percent of the squad.

In the end though what we need is 2 new centre midfielders and if we have quality there it doesnt matter who we have up front.

It wasn't too long ago when Man Utd fans were calling the Carling Cup (then Worthington Cup) the Worthless Cup. Just shows how times have changed.

no, Chelsea are the league champions, so by JohnnyG's theory (not mine) Chelsea are the best team in England but Liverpool are the best team in Europe

But the fantastic, worldwide acclaimed Carling Cup was more recent. And a knockout competition at that too.

However on their day, we all know Middlesborough are infact the best team in England.

Well i suppose if you use JohnnyG's theory Man Utd are the best league team in England as they won the Carling Cup, Chelsea are the best team in the Premiership as they won the title and Liverpool are the best team in Europe as they won the CL. So from that who's the best Liverpool, Man Utd or Chelsea?

But Man Utd winning the Carling Cup most recently, a competition inlcuding all domestic English top flight clubs, means that Chelsea can't claim to be the best team in England, and Liverpool can't be the best team in Europe because they're not even the best team in England.

Also seen as we beat Wigan 4-0 and Liverpool beat Man Utd 1-0, does that mean Liverpool will beat Wigan 5-0?

But how can Man Utd be the best team in England if there not the best team in Europe? This is getting stupid lets just say that Arsenal are crap :D. We will all agree on that.

Hahahahahaha.... hahahaha.... HAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAA!

Let's play Fletcher and O'Shea up front next season then, as long as we've got Gattuso and Gravesen in the middle we should win the CL.

Where have you got this insane idea that Saha has played flowing football at Man Utd this season? I rated him at Fulham but he's shown little desire and even less ability at Utd. He doesn't chase balls down with any passion, is completely unaware of everyone around him, gets caught in posession and as others have said 9/10 stands on the ball.

We played our best attacking football because of Wayne Rooney when RvN was out - nothing less. Rooney was on fire and basically kept us alive due to his scoring and workrate.

If you think Saha can make any impact on the Premiership or CL if RvN leaves then you are beyond help.

As for it not mattering if people care about the club they play for - this is a perfect example of what's wrong with the Premier League these days. Mourinho's disposable Galactico squad are imo far inferior to Wigan simply because Wigan play as a team and show that football is a team game, not a glory hunting trophy fest. If you support United for the trophies you're going to be very disappointed until SAF steps down. I support them because of the team ethic of players like Ole, Ruud, Rooney, Heinze, GNev, Smudger and Bardsley.

Your logic is flawed. Man Utd are the best team in England (apparantly ;)) but not the best team in Europe. To be the best team in Europe it goes without saying you'd have to be the best domestically and thus Liverpool are not.

Anyway, Middlesbrough have beaten the big three this year, and if you do happen to beat Wigan 5-0 I'll be straight out with the calculator and down to the bookies the following weekend.

What games have you been watching? Saha has scored 11 goals this season with just as many starts and he has just returned from injury!

You want passion, why did Rvn stand around doing nothing agaisnt the Bindippers? Saha came on and looked like he gave a damn against out biggest rivals, and if you were in touch with some of the united faithful you'd know that most of the stretford enders actually believe saha to be a good player and some would prefer him to RVN.

Saha gives us a different option, he wins the arial ball and can run at defenders, he can also score from outside of the box. Is saha better than RVN, no, but hes a good option and gives us something different when he plays.
