Sues Manufacturer Claiming ´Lynx Effect´ Doesn´t Work

India: 26-year-old Vaibhav Bedi has filed a £26,000 lawsuit against Unilever, claiming that 'Lynx effect' does not work. He has been using Lynx products for seven years and has not had one girlfriend during that time.

Bedi claims he has been cheated by the company because no women were attracted to him and came to him like in the Lynx advertisements. Forensic testing has been ordered for the remnants of a number of his Lynx products.

Compensation litigator Ram Jethmalani suggested the company settle, saying that "there is no data to substantiate the supposition that unattractive and unintelligent men don't attract women."

So, has smelly stuff worked for you (wearing it or smelling it on somebody else)?
Me personally, I hate perfume etc.

Jesus ******* christ.

What a complete muppet.

I don't wear lynx, it tends to cover up my natural man smell which the ladies love.....

Common sense is a weak legal argument.

If they advertise something happens however much common sense says otherwise you can sue for lack of advertised effect.

Bit crap but I personally feel advertisers need slapping about every now and again for all the BS they plaster everywhere.

Hope he gets millions.

Me and my mate sprayed 7 different flavours on ourselves one night, didn't work at all. I'm going to sue I think. :D

The only Lynx I liked was Tempest (remember that?) All the rest are crap imo.

Real mean use Sure :p

On topic - sounds like another muppet trying to take a big company in the hope's of financial gain at the cost of their advertising campaign / slogan.

It is a little unfair of Lynx to constantly spew poo suggesting women are so easily minipulated purely by a (pretty aweful smelling) cheap deoderant.

Having said that I did once have a girlfriend that loved the way Lynx smelt and it made her... well, let's just say it had the advertised effect.

26k dosent sound to bad overall ..... when I read the thread title I was expecting something silly tbh, but to be fair it is a marketing ploy and everyone really does know its not going to happen ! so shame on him!

oh and by the way old spice for the win !

I think it's absolutely spot on that he sues. If they advertise that you get girls, then why should he assume that he doesn't? Good on the guy, making some money while he's at it
