Manchester Meet-Up

Seriously miffed that i can't be there tomorrow lads (at least i'd reduce the high french percentage) - Have fun anyway.

Shame you're not going to be there Goliath. It was a bit of a risk whichever date we chose for the meet, but if it's a success no doubt that there will be others in the near future :)

Expect plenty of pictures and videos on our return though.

Right guys, just gave the car a bit of a run and went down to the services. Took a couple of pics and vids just for fun. After you get past junction 18, keep driving for about 2 miles and you'll be there. It's actually about 1/2 a mile away from junction 19.

It's basically a big open car park with surrounding shops. Loads of places to park so no problems there.

Entrance as you come off the motorway

Exit - There's a petrol station around the other side

I'm guessing this is the right place?

Left side of the carpark

Right side of the carpark

So basically, people can park wherever they want and they'll be easily spotted. I reckon either just at the entrance, or follow it around at the top and park next to the exit out of the way would be the best bet.

:) Nice one. My car is quite dirty but from my bedroom window it's so shiny  Last washed it a week ago. Not bad for 11 year old paintwork.

Hmm, I wasn't looking at the mileage reading, but it did seem quite far before I saw signs for it. Then it was another mile from the first sign to the turn off.

I've picked up the Xant and spent the afternoon cleaning the interior (when we finally got out of the M6 carpark...) Not sure if I'll be attending tomorrow as I've noticed that at the last service there was an advisory notice "Advise Bottom Pulley". I'm going to try and inspect it tomorrow to see what's up. Otherwise I'm going to have to take it to a garage as I don't want timing belt snappage!!!

:( k mate, see what you can dig up hopefully it will be something you can look at yourself, has the car had a belt change before?

Belt changed at 100k. I'll be up first thing tomorrow morning to look. It would be ashame to miss it but the last thing I want to be doing if it is dodgy is hairing along the motorway and round the countryside :(

I'm investigating on the citroen forums. Consensus is that the pully is probably either rattly or the rubber is perishing. I will most like get the timing belt, pully and possibly water pump done just to be on the safe side. On the plus side though the struts which I thought might be a problem seem fine and there is no mention of them being in poor condition on previous mechanic reports.
