Hmm, might not be able to make it, depends on when/if I get back from Cornwall tonight. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I have to drive to Cornwall now, and then back again tonight
I've just returned from work and some idiots are kicking wing mirrors off cars down my street, my bros car and my dads car have been victims luckily i was at work im going for a drive to protect my car for tommorow.
Its a sensitive issue, and im not pulling anyones leg unfortunately However things are looking up, might not have to make the trip until tomorrow night now.
Arghhhhhh! Things are bound to go wrong on the final night.
When I got to Birch services before, my alternator belt started squealing. Fine I thought, it's just come loose (has done so ever since I changed belts a few weeks ago), I'll tighten it up later.
Wrong... went out to pick the gf up before and thought I would tighten the belt up before I left. It seems the bottom tensioner bolt has SNAPPED and so, the alternator belt has become very loose!!!
I was absolutely pooing myself that I wouldn't be able to make it tomorrow, but the alternator is still spinning at a satisfactory rate. I'm just looking for the battery charger so at least I can charge a second battery up tonight and bring it tomorrow... just in case
Long as is still spinning and putting some charge back into the batt, just hope the belt dont slip off!
The only bad luck i've had so far (Touch Wood) is loss of natural light at 9:00ish tonight and couldn't fully finish cleaning my car, early start for me tomoz got the bottom half to wash and wax first thing
The battery light on the dash glows ever so slightly at low revs, which shows that it isn't putting enough voltage into the battery. At high revs (4000+ rpm) the light goes out and all seems fine. I'm going to have to be up for 8am to find a bolt long enough to reach through to the tensioner
I found the battery charger and the 2nd battery is now on charge. I mean, I shouldn't have any problems, but just incase I do, at least I've got a backup with me.
I just hope the 2nd battery isn't totally knackered (was taken from my old car and so hasn't been used since May).
Thanks for the kind words guys. I'll just have to keep the revs about 4000rpm to make sure the battery gets sufficient charge
Braeden, I'll try and get down for 10:30. It took me about 10 minutes to get down today, so it's really no trouble. We could plan a way to destroy all the french cars too
