Manchester Meet-Up

LOL, there's always one :p

Coco, that's great news mate! Now how about adding that final 1% ;)

Oh... I just realised what you did... clever :p

Well I'm 99.103% sure my car is going to break down on Sunday, ok that's not funny :(

Me five :D

As for telling other people, I told a couple of people at the pub I work in. One girls reaction was "they could be 40 year old men or anything" She just doesn't get that not everyone from the interweb are telling lies.

Told my Dad and he just told me to be careful when driving. Nice of him to say that, but he thinks I'm an idiot driver  He's been on a few meets before with people from Rovertech so I don't think he minds me doing the time. Perhaps I should tell him not to enjoy himself and just do 30mph on country roads.

Hey guys, just got in. Had a crazy night!

Just like to add that I'm a definite for Sunday. Got nothing planned, so I'm all good :)

Has anyone else noticed that Deadly123 has been suspended? Lets hope he still turns up :(

:D That's great news Braeden! Hope you can make it mate!

Firestar, I was just thinking the same thing. How am I supposed to wash the car if it's raining :(

Nice one on booking the restaurant Si. You're a star.

Gilly, that would be awesome if you could come down. Hey, you'd get to see my stupid ridiculous spoiler that I know you love so much :p

:( Nooooooooo! The frenchies are taking over!

I was going to say something about them having a "(hav" reputation, but I think I'll leave it ;) :D

Mark, done mate :) That's good news.

I think I'm going to take a trip down to the service station today. Might take my camera and take a few piccies so people have a good indication of where to park.

No idea. They were like that when I got the car.

3 of them are cheapy Star Performer tyres (with the bald one being on the front), and the other one on the front is a Pirelli which had loads of tread when I bought the car, so I think some numpty who owned the car before only got one tyre replaced.

Shame though, the Pirelli is a good tyre... if not a little low on tread ;) :(

Ohhhh, the rain has stopped and the sun is out. Just been out to give the wheels a once over (damn brake dust) and am going to polish and clean the interior now.

It absolutely stinks of old cigarettes in there :( I hate smoking and really shouldn't let my girlfriend smoke when in the car.

Seriously miffed that i can't be there tomorrow lads (at least i'd reduce the high french percentage) - Have fun anyway.

Shame you're not going to be there Goliath. It was a bit of a risk whichever date we chose for the meet, but if it's a success no doubt that there will be others in the near future :)

Expect plenty of pictures and videos on our return though.

Right guys, just gave the car a bit of a run and went down to the services. Took a couple of pics and vids just for fun. After you get past junction 18, keep driving for about 2 miles and you'll be there. It's actually about 1/2 a mile away from junction 19.

It's basically a big open car park with surrounding shops. Loads of places to park so no problems there.

Entrance as you come off the motorway

Exit - There's a petrol station around the other side

I'm guessing this is the right place?

Left side of the carpark

Right side of the carpark

So basically, people can park wherever they want and they'll be easily spotted. I reckon either just at the entrance, or follow it around at the top and park next to the exit out of the way would be the best bet.

:) Nice one. My car is quite dirty but from my bedroom window it's so shiny  Last washed it a week ago. Not bad for 11 year old paintwork.

Hmm, I wasn't looking at the mileage reading, but it did seem quite far before I saw signs for it. Then it was another mile from the first sign to the turn off.

Arghhhhhh! Things are bound to go wrong on the final night.

When I got to Birch services before, my alternator belt started squealing. Fine I thought, it's just come loose (has done so ever since I changed belts a few weeks ago), I'll tighten it up later.

Wrong... went out to pick the gf up before and thought I would tighten the belt up before I left. It seems the bottom tensioner bolt has SNAPPED and so, the alternator belt has become very loose!!!

I was absolutely pooing myself that I wouldn't be able to make it tomorrow, but the alternator is still spinning at a satisfactory rate. I'm just looking for the battery charger so at least I can charge a second battery up tonight and bring it tomorrow... just in case :(

The battery light on the dash glows ever so slightly at low revs, which shows that it isn't putting enough voltage into the battery. At high revs (4000+ rpm) the light goes out and all seems fine. I'm going to have to be up for 8am to find a bolt long enough to reach through to the tensioner :(

Damn cars  I'll see you tomorrow anyhow :)
