As for the game, the penalty was a joke but Gerrard deserved his red. I've got nothing against players making those sort of tackles if they're trying to win the ball, and I'm sure he did, but the game's gone soft and the rules state you can't jump in two footed anymore :(

Never really thought we had a chance to win today but I'm very pleased with the defensive side of the performance (all 4 defenders had great games) and I thought we looked to play it on the floor far more than we ever did under Roy. Certainly more confident about the remainder of the season than I ever was with Clown Shoes in charge of us :)

I cant believe for a moment that Babel knows how to digitally alter a picture, the guy can barely write a legible sentence. Must be a real photo. :)
 
Probably a hars penalty and a harsh sending off also.

But Gerard always does these stupid tackles. and this was was definitely stupid enough to get himself sent off. I was hoiping for some kind of carrick injury to really brighten the match up but sadly no...

Just reading the KD interview one bit made me smile,
Dalglish's return to English football was shaped by two key decisions from World Cup final referee Howard Webb.

Sorry to say Kenny but yes they have changed the rules since you last managed in the premier league, your captain knows the penalty one especially well :D

I don't think it was, he went in 2 footed, off the ground, at speed.

He's done it a couple of times and tbh it's dirty and he should be sent off for it.

All the Scouse fans moaning about Rafael doing exactly the same thing, if you look at it, he leaves the ground but is not flying in full pelt like Gerrard did and even stayed up after he came out with the ball.

Everyone that I was watching the match with (United, City and 2 Liverpool fans) didn't bat an eyelid when Rafael tackled him but all agreed Gerrard was right to go.

Agreed but the fan outside the stadium shouting "MUNICH, MUNICH, MUNICH" was disappointing.

The Aeroplane gesture was quite tasteless as well but like you say, idiots on both sides.

I didn't see it old bean so I don't know what was said but I can imagine.

May be it should become a Perma offence, any one mentioning any disaster like Heysel, Hillsborough or Munich in derogatory way gets Perma'd, simples.
 
Real Madrid 2-2 Ronaldo with a second goal late in the first half to draw it level. Villareal playing well, more shots, one more corner, had the ball in the net with an offside, Ronaldo has aswell, missed the replays so not sure if either should have been a goal.

But Real at home conceding two goals in 18minutes is pretty rare.

Seriously though, Ronaldo is starting to look like not only good value at 80mil, but a downright bargain :p

18 games, 21 goals, 5 assists in the league alone this year. 26 games, 29 goals, 7 assists for Real in all competitions this season. Madness.


Di Maria is turning into a real diving little cheat though, replay stutted midway through but the freekick he won that the second goal was scored from looked like yet another dive. Can't remember who it was against but a few weeks ago Di Maria got booked for diving and had thrown himself to ground all game long, he makes Ronaldo look honest in comparison.

Its always the same, it will never change Liverpool beat Man United Hillsborough/Heysal insults get thrown about. Man United beat Liverpool Munich insults get thrown about.

yes, no one side guilty on their own but it stops now and repeat offenders will be permabanned
