Manhunt 2 illegal

So the solution is to expose those people to the content

This is exactly where people fall down... thinking there is a solution to random, psychotic, morally bereft behaviour. There isn't a solution.

Stopping people from watching a movie like 'The Accused', which features a very graphic rape scene, is not going to stop people from carrying out such unforgiveable acts. It is already inside them to feel and justify such actions.

We have terrible people in this world, but treating ALL of us like it is not a logical solution, nor is it one that will result in keeping all the other 'crazies' quiet. All that action does is raise further debates like this one, which while not a solution, is a healthy aspect.

I'm not saying its perfect, it's a diametric result of people being different, with different views of acceptable behaviour towards are fellow beings.

LMFAO. It's a computer game there is no killing.

yes but you would if you were in the situation that the character was in. Either that or you die.

All manhunt really is, is Hitman, but instead you kill stealthily loads of gang members who where bunny costumes and weird **** like that.

Hands up who's played Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Now, how many of the following have you done?

  • Paid a hooker for sex and then blew her brains out to recover your monies?
  • Been approached by a cop only to unload a shotgun in his face?
  • Decided you like that cool looking car so much that you'll throw the owner to the floor, shoot them in the head and casually mow down any witnesses with your newly aquired motor?
  • Walked up to a random stranger and cooly put them out of their misery with a pair of Uzi's?

Aye *puts hands up*

Like i said before, i give up. Just want to point out we are influenced daily in everyday life by everything, fashion/news/entertainment you can control it to a certain extent but not fully. If guns started being glorified in the uk im sure more people would buy them but they are not, as a result general public opinion is against them.

This is silly. It really grinds me a game I'd like to play is getting censored because of an incredibly small amount of people, who might get slightly stimulated to do something they're likely to eventually do anyway. All these cases of where young people have been 'influenced' to commit murders by playing computer games could have easily been prevented by half-decent parenting. Firstly not to raise such a sadistic child and secondly not to allow their under aged children to play 18 certified material. If you do allow it, moaning about the game influencing your child when something does happen is just stupid.

Idiots, the lot of them.

Couldn't agree more!

You'd be surprised at the amount of parents, in a well known high-street purveyor of games, buying little Johnny the latest 18 cert games. Funnily enough though, you never see them buying the same little Johnny 18 cert violent films.

The parents bother me the most here.

Unable to just admit that their son had mental problems and get help to fix the problem, they instead blame a computer game.

What a pathetic pair of morons. Even the big rolleyes isn't close enough.

Subconciously you are still performing the act and are being encouraged to do so. LMFAO yourself.
That's no more than a theory (if it even is a theory  ) and certainly hasn't been proven.

Don't remember learning theory being proven either. :p

Now you're talking about a completely different matter, guns can kill people, video games cannot. How are you going to kill someone with a copy of Manhunt? Throw the disc at them?

Well edited quote there. Congratulations at skipping every point i've made thus far. So, i'm pretty much done with this subject. my points are made and typing them again and again will not reverse your ignorance.

So... you win I guess. 1st prize :)

I suppose if guns we're illegal from the start 200 years ago and nobody had access to them
Actually there was a study done a while back which showed that the gun murder rates over 200 years were five times higher in new york compared to london (and yes, guns were available in both places), which suggests it's cultural rather than due to availability.

If I "skipped your point", you're clearly not making your clear enough, because as far as I can see, you're comparing a weapon which was invented for killing people with a video game which (allegedly) influences people to kill, which are completely different matters.
