** MANY SKYLAKE DDR4 LAPTOPS NOW IN STOCK & AVAILABLE AT OcUK!! **

Today is pre-order ETA day for several of the V5 generation of Gigabyte's P series (e.g. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/giga...x-970m-6gb-gddr5-gaming-laptop-lt-066-gi.html) . Do we know if that is still accurate and that OC will be getting deliveries today ? I and others pre-ordered some weeks ago and that date hasn't budged so I'm hoping its accurate and I can get my hands on my new P35W V5-CF1 soon now.

Hi Stunts,

Thanks for highlighting this,,, dates unfortunately need to be aamended.

The original dates were what we anticipated when orders were placed, and with the transition to the new OCUK web-site it looks like some information has not been updated.

We will confirm dates with OCUK and update the information as soon as possible.

Sorry for delay, but we can unfortunately confirm that stock hasnt left factory for OcUK yet.

Hope you can hang on. All good things etc etc,,,, :-)

Regards,

Oh that is really unfortunate :( OC isn't like Amazon where you pre-order then pay when it is shipped, we have to pay for the item on ordering, so I paid for my laptop 17 days ago expecting it to be shipped out sometime today. Do we have at least some form of ETA such as a week ? 2 weeks ? longer ? How long does shipping generally take ? I can't afford to pay for a laptop I'm not actually going to get for many weeks to come :(

Just a thought after posting the not so good news....

OcUK have this very similar spec unit, with 5th Gen Core i7 on very good discount - today only

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/giga...tx970m-6gb-gddr5-gaming-laptop-lt-051-gi.html

Could be a solution if you were needing unit quickly and wanted to save a few pounds.

Hope that helps,

Understand and yes its not a great situation.

We will hopefully receive more accurate information from the factory next week, Mon/Tue.

Once the product is finished manufaccturing and ready to ship, the lead time is only a few days.

See if the other product (in previous post) we highlighted is suitable alternative if you cant wait the "yet to be confirmed" amount of time.

Ok, I can wait until then to hear more, fingers crossed we get more accurate info next week. And thank you for your quick responses. Maybe you can ask OC again to update the specs of the P35W V5 ? It's still showing V4 information 3 weeks later.

Max Memory (P35X V5)

Just a question, what is the Max Memory limit on this machine.
I see the site says 16GB, is that based on a memory chip limitation, or a motherboard limitation. (i.e. 2 DIMMS Slots of 8GB)

This does seem to be quite out-dated. do you know what the motherboard will support. and then also what style of memory is used (#Pins)

Thanks

I would love to buy the P35W V5 but sadly it is not available in the Netherlands and ordering in the UK is just way too expensive (~€2000), other laptops with 970m which are available in the Netherlands are €500-€800 cheaper, too much to justify the purchase of it..

My question being, will they come to the Netherlands as well? Or will we be left out? Thanks!

The p35x v5 details were on the gigabyte.com and gigabyte.tw websites for a few days before dissapearing (hopefully they will be properly live soon) but I recall it said the max memory was 32gb.

Thanks Stunts,

I remember seeing it up for a bit, then saw OC update there website...
but guess they aren't the best, at that part of the process.

The OC updates aren't really updates, what they did was remove almost all references to V4 (they left the first one behind) but the core details are still not updated for V5 3 weeks after first listing it. Far from ideal and clearly they are losing out on sales if the details are wrong because not everyone will come here to ask.
