** MANY SKYLAKE DDR4 LAPTOPS NOW IN STOCK & AVAILABLE AT OcUK!! **

Well last update was 16 Nov...
Atom80 : "Based on current information from HQ, we expect this unit to be @ OCUK in approximately 2 weeks time (ETA 16th Nov)"

and I thought that was going to be revised on Mon/Tue
Atom80 : "We will hopefully receive more accurate information from the factory next week, Mon/Tue."

but being Thursday...

I can feel your pain, although you ordered yours way earlier than me.

Yeah, never heard anything from that point on.

Also, I didn't order anything just yet. I want to await some benchmarks first to see if it thermal throttles like the old one did. If so, I will take a clevo P650 which are available in the netherlands, gigabyte on the other hand not.

Gigabyte has my preference though, it is mostly the availability that kills me. I either buy it in germany (stupid QWERTZ keyboard) or buy it in UK (€400 more for the same model in germany..). Ideal solution would be ordering in germany with a QWERTY keyboard but gigabyte does not supply them QWERTY, only QWERTZ.. Perhaps I can get a replacement keyboard from gigabyte? That would solve the problem

Hi send_it_2_me,

Latest update from HQ is that the P35X is going to be here first, and the P35W unfortunately looks like wont arrive until first half of December.

We should be able to supply accurate date once the pre-production runs have taken place (this week).

Hope to post date information very soon.

Regards,

Gigabyte UK NB Team

Hi Doppleganger,

Thought we were losing our minds, but in fact this was answered on a different thread, not this one:-)

"Hi Flashheart,

Type C USB 3.1 - yes this is on the machines.

TB3 - no this isn't installed.

We believe there are advantages of our design, separated HDMI / DP / usb3.1, means we can have HDMI 2.0 (thunderbolt is 1.4) and full IO port. Removing the need for a converter when connecting 2 external displays.

Hope that clarifies,

Regards,

Gigabyte UK NB Team"

Is this the case for all the new Gigabyte Skylake laptops (particularly the P35X V5-CF1), or just the x3 v5?

With Thunderbolt 3, the P35X V5-CF1 is basically the perfect laptop, if not, will have go with an MSI + 970m...

If no thunderbolt 3 then it's not going to be as good as a device with thunderbolt 3

look here

So only devices with thunderbolt 3 will use the new graphics amplifiers when they are released soon.

Gigabyte you have missed out on a major play here me thinks!

I'd have to agree having a T3 port would be nice, and having at least USB3 was a want,
either way, when taking the laptop on the move, having a battery operated external GPU, might not be the first thing the makers will consider, and that is only in technical design, might the buy a Alienware laptop

I am looking more for access to 8GB GPU with a bit of battery life...

PS. hoping its not a lemon.... with all these dates being pushed back, and back....
I might send OC an invoice for interest.

Some of the weirdest design choices, bit of a shame really, would be a really nice laptop otherwise. HDMI 2.0 rather than Thunderbolt 3 support over the USB Type-C port (there's a mini DisplayPort 1.2 port, which should mitigate the HDMI 2.0 port pretty much -- not to mention, HDMI 2.0 would be possible via either the Thunderbolt 3 port, or the DisplayPort 1.2 port)... just bizarre and to add to the increasingly baffling design choices, there's a VGA port... HAHA, wow, gj Gigabyte wp.

Shame, MSI GS60 with 970M it is then...

So ... Atom80

Are OcUK still on schedule to receive the P35x-v5-CF1 on Monday ?
I see Gigabyte have re-released the product details ...
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5696#kf

Thanks

I see no mention of thunderbolt 3 either, so unlike the others that are ready for the new egpu thunderbolt ability, Gigabyte may be not joining in?

That's a deal breaker for some :(

Are Gigabyte thinking about including these at some point or continue to run their own course?

I know thunderbolt will reduce peoples reliance on desktops so gigabyte may lose out on sales in that area, but by not including it you will lose sales to your competitors.

Hi Atom80,

Do you have any info regarding the P35W V5-CF1?

Ty!

Hi,

Yes, stock is leaving factory this week, we will get confirmation on date of despach tomorrow, and SHOULD see stock live by the 14th December.

Sorry for delay

Hi Atom, have you had confirmation of date of despatch now on the P35W V5's please ? I'm one of the pre-order people, been waiting (and paid) since October 20th and am really starting to get concerned if we'll be seeing the laptops this side of xmas so any reassurances will help reduce that fear.

Hi stunts,

Shipment has left factory today and is on way to OcUK as we speak.

This will mean the delivery should be at OcUK warehouse on Monday/Tuesday, but because they are extremely busy on goods in/out we anticipate delay in goods being ready to ship.

We updated OCUK site yesterday with an ETA of next Friday (18th) which we hope is realistic.

Thanks for your patience,

Regards,

Atom80
