I've got XP on my desktop, but Vista on my laptop.
I much prefer Vista. It works a lot better in my opinion to how XP did. Yes, there are some downsides, like I find audio a pain, but I think that is down to drivers rather than the operating system.
Using XP on my desktop, and on other machines really highlights the features that I really miss from Vista, such as the way it handles the start menu, search feature in the start menu (I just use it for finding applications).
On any new machine I buy, I will definitely be getting Vista, and when Windows 7 comes along I will be getting that on any new computer. However, I wouldn't necessarily consider upgrading a current installation to Vista.
