Maradona

I think Capello needs to pucker up then... :p

LOL nah i think id rather kiss Maradona as hes just class:p...but like his interview posted a page back...no no no i only like women especially blonde women:p

But seriously though i do want England to do well...theres only 3 teams that i like more than England and they are Brazil, Argies and Spain...ive always liked those teams from a while back but any other team playing against England...im definitely behind England for sure.

I really wish people would stop using the "I hate him, he waves fake cards around" thing as a reason as to why someone sucks.

The reason you see foreigners doing it more in the league than english players is fairly simple to comprehend, english ref's, english players, they SPEAK the same language, foreign players with less good english just use the international symbol for "how the **** is that not a yellow ref" .

English players ask for people to be booked EXACTLY the same amount as other players, and ALL managers jump around like looneys throwing their arms in the air and berating the 4th official constantly throughout games that aren't going their way.

Again, when its a foreign(to the manager) official, you tend to use hand gestures instead of speaking for 25 minutes in the guys ear on the sidelines.

You see EVERY manager in the Prem League shouting obscenities at 4th officials over decisions and asking for fouls and freekicks and asking how thats not a yellow all game long.

Pretending one small group of people don't do this is hilarious, EVERY team does this, all game long, every game, for every half bad tackle and a lot of good tackles aswell. This is football, get used to it.

That is truly fantastic, the coke eyes are back :p. Lots of countries its very common for men to kiss on the cheek, its very very very not common in England, but fairly common almost everywhere else.

You've probably all seen this. Now, I don't think he should quit. He has been one of the few managers who has shown real passion towards the games and love towards his players, and I think it's reciprocated. He has had his critics in the quailification stages and wrt to team selection but in the grand scheme of things quarter finals isn't that bad, especially for the first time in charge of a major tournament. I think he should use this as a springboard to improve the team, get better midfielders/defenders, and think long term. He hasn't come across as the sort of person to quit so easily so I'd be very sad if he did.

He did ok I guess, sadly the Argentinians aren't blessed with many good defenders and it showed in the end. He did however not pick Zanetti which was a bit of a shocker imo. Should carry on though, for entertainment purposes if nothing else.

"He's just a fan in a suit" is how they described him today :D

Loved watching him during this WC though, he's one of very few highlights!

I liked it when the commentator said - 'I bet Argentina wish they had a manager and not a mascot now' :p

Cracking bloke though.

As above I've enjoyed watching him during this World Cup and it would be a shame if he quit now. Tactually I'm sure he's learned a lot from this world cup and that can only help. Fair enough if he's sacked and the choice is made for him, but if it's down to his decision and commitment then I'm sure he'll do nothing but improve over the next few years.

I think Maradona quoted before the World Cup his tactics were the same as his winning world cup squad from 1986. Unfortunately they never had Maradona on the pitch to pull those tactics off. What were those tactics? Maradona picks the ball in his own half, charges up field, lays off a killer pass and 5% of the time his team mates score :) In fact that Passes video on the first page features this very tactic over and over.

im pretty sure he must have learnt a thing or two from managers during his playing days.

theres no way someone can be so gifted at football, and not know anything tactically. luck also has a part to play. holland got 2 lucky goals against brazil. he set up his team wrong for the germans though 4-3-3.

he needed to play a 4-2-2-2

with mascherano and veron as the holding midfielders.

i would have then had milito and aguero up front, because both of them are hard working forwards (higuain is a poacher).

the 2 attacking midfielders would have been messi and tevez.

that would have provided a much stronger setup ahainst the germans. by playing a 4-3-3 they were left wide open with no protection for their weak defence.

He should quit and allow someone that knows what they're doing to take over. As good as he was as a player he's nothing more than a mascot for Argentina.

england had someone who knew what he was doing but it didn't exactly help us.

there aren't many great argentinian defenders and thats the only reason they fell apart today. the same as how we fell apart last week even with one of the best cb and the best lb in the world. germany are ruthless on the attack

up until today they have been great this year and i think he has got far too much criticism this afternoon considering how good that germany team is

the players love him and wanted to do there best for him. we could have done with that ourselves.
