You got ripped off.

I haven't bought them. I was just quoting him saying he paid £130 for his from etyres, they are £205 fitted now on that site.

I've priced mine up on camskill, about £170 fitted i think off the top of my head.

Since when did a Focus ST run 245/40/18's

He was talking about tyre prices on his ST

Camskill have CS5 for £118 in his size.

Hmm, conti SC3 for mine from there are £205 a corner fitted (245/40/18), when did you last buy them?

It's been a while granted....

I do get a good deal of this bloke though, same fitter every time and have his personal mobile number. He does give me all the proper paperwork too, so I don't think he's robbing them. But he also does 3 other vehicles of ours as well. What with that and the fact I haven't had some in quite some time, I suspect I'm looking at a price hike next time round. :D

Hello again

Has anyone had any experience of Marangoni tyres? Im doing a little bit of research on how much tyres will cost when I get around to purchasing a 330. They seem to be well priced, and from the little info I can find, a fairly decent tyre brand.

Any experience would be great! :)
budget tyres I would be driving a front wheel drive car

a company with motorsport in its name selling poverty spec tires, what is the world coming to?

By better I mean a more comfortable ride :p grip/wear is much of a muchness!

I didn't bother buying the CS3 in the end, I don't like the tread pattern ¬_¬

Seriously? You didn't bother buying a tyre that consistently ranks above the Vreds in almost every area (if not every area) because... you didnt like the tread pattern?

Did you think I was being serious? This is motors after all :)

But yeah they rank highly but then again people ranked the PS2 very highly as well in comparison yet they're no better or worse than the Vred but are more expensive. ITT: people's opinions vary.

To be honest I've never seen credible test results demonstrate the PS2 was anything other than average amongst UHP tyres in the wet, I wouldn't buy them either and I certainly wouldn't use the fact that the Vred is no worse than a PS2 to discount the purchase of better performing tyres.

I never had a problem with the PS2 in the wet, I always commented on their wet performance being excellent, just like their dry performance. My only gripe with them was that they tramlined on even the slightest of uneven roads and were an uncomfortable ride on non-smooth surfaces.

The Vreds are non of those negatives^

On the e46 Sport coupe....

There you go, a brilliant tyre whatever the weather on the E46 coupe, job done :)

Edit*

The Vreds are better than the PS2. I had the PS2 for 1.5 years.

This simply isn't true thought is it, they SUCK on damp roads, given that most of the time when it rains we get damp roads for half the day i'd say that's a serious issue.

No. I found neither of the 2 mentioned tyres above to suck in damp conditions, as I posted earlier^^

It's borderline but i think i had more traction issues in the damp on the verds than the FK452's and i REALLY didn't rate the 452's.

I personally think they Verds do lots of things very well however as an overall package the likes of the ASY2's and CS3's & 5's aren't much more expensive and they do everything extremely well.

On which size/car though? Tyres perform differently on different cars but I'm sure you know this anyway.

For reference, mine are 225/45/17 and 245/40/17.
