A move for Kimi to McLaren would great for F1 fans everywhere. We will get to see how a more mature Hamilton stacks up against a genuinely fast driver.

And where will Heikki end up then? (just asking the question, not that he's done anything spectacular this season) :)

Hamilton's to lose tomorrow then! Button may get a point or two if he can jump some in the pits.

shocked hamilton is heaviest and on pole (even if the red flag did help).

i think button is heavy because overtaking is hard on this track so he isnt going to make up any places going light. brawn is a genius at put stratergy so if he gets any points it will be very well worked through pits.

hamilton should win tomorrow reasonably comfortably.

button is definately doing his best to lose the WDC.

Or more likely he's just hoping for a safety car..

Maybe Button is hoping to avoid any opening lap carnage and have a long first stint, when others are crashing/pitting. Does seem very odd though, and a strange gamble to have taken

Looks like from Nakajima back will be 1 stopping. Except for Liuzzi who's only got 17 laps

The best way for Button or any driver to avoid collision is to qualify up front. Qualifying in the middle is a very bad strategy if you want to avoid first lap collisions. I'm pretty sure that the BrawnGP team know this.

Yeah I know, im just saying when he realised he didn't have pole position form this weekend, he thought that heavy fuelling the car was the next best thing. Risky gamble though, and one that doesn't usually pay off as you say.
:)

I don't think they deliberately qualified 12th

but heavy fuel seems totally logical unless your team mate crashes at turn 17

Some may say that he doesnt deserve to be in F1 ;)

Personally though, I feel it would be best for him to go to a team in the middle of the grid (which is what Nelson Piquet & Grosjean should've done) and not drive against one of the best drivers in F1 (Hamilton), in a team centered around Hamilton.

Starting your career with MS, Alonso or Hamilton as your team-mate is either going to put you right at the top (if you come good) or finish your career, before its even started (Verstappen, JJ Lehto: MS's team-mates, Piquet, Grojean: Alonso's team-mates).

I do feel sorry for these team-mates who get obliterated out of F1, but its their own fault for believing that they can take on Alonso, MS, Hamilton and come out at the end of it, looking good. Grosjean is still in F1, but Alonso is currently making him look awful and his career could be coming to an end before its effectively started.

Vettel got it right, when he started with Torro Rosso and worked his way to the middle/front. Had he started F1 with Alonso as his team-mate, he may not have been an F1 driver today.

In a way I feel sorry for Heikki, as I feel he is doing a much better job than Piquet, Grosjean, Fisichella (at Ferrari, Badoer and every other No.2 driver in F1.

Against a washed up Kimi? Have you not beeen watching the guy for the last 3 years? He only turns up for the last half of the season after everyone starts talking about the sack.

Kimi has gotten everything he wanted out of F1 and ever since he's as shell of the driver that should have gone on to be unstoppable.

Hamilton would completely destroy the Kimi that has been about since he left mclaren. Mclaren is now built around Hamilton, it would be a no contest.

I thought Kimi wanted to go rallying, surely he doesn't need to stay in F1 for the money.

Heikki drives well at times but not for a race distance, I think its too late for him to save his seat, its a pity as he comes across as a decent bloke.

Washed up Kimi has consistently been on the podium for the last few races in a car that looks very difficult to drive judging from how Badoer and Fisi did in it :p

I think Kimi would do pretty well at Mclaren, as has been pointed out on a few occasions he isn't intimidated and won't care who his teammate is, he just gets in the car and drives. If McLaren went with KERS next year and had Kimi I'd say they would have the 2 drivers that seem to use it best :)

Whether Kimi wants to stay in F1 is another matter....

I agree that Kimi isn't as washed up as some might think. However, I don't actually think that the Ferrari car is as bad as you are suggesting. Fisi and Badoer are not top line drivers and my guess is that if Massa was still around, he would be outscoring Kimi. Kimi's team-mates are making the Ferrari car look worse than it actually is. If the Ferrari car really was that bad, Kimi wouldn't be getting consistent podiums.
