Nightcrawler is best played without Blink Strike. Instead max Infernal Brimstone, Flash and Grab and Dive Bomb, with a point in Shadowmeld. The idea is you drop IB, yank everyone on the screen into it, go invisible then drop a double-power Dive Bomb on anyone still vertical. Use +DR to Area attacks and the damage is insane.

Splinters drop quite frequently, every few minutes I've found but it still takes a few weeks of playing to get enough. You can use them for other things like buying retcon's (120-150) or cosmic items like armour/weapons (40)

Splinters drop on a loaded clock. If a splinter has dropped in the last five minutes you won't see another, but by the time you get to 8 minutes with no drop it's almost guaranteed. Special Item Find (SIF) increases the rate at which the probability grows; with about 100% SIF you'll get a Splinter every 6 minutes or thereabouts. The basic rule is that 80 hours play will earn you enough Splinters to buy any hero outright, less for the cheaper ones.

It's never two. The box always has two tokens for the same hero, so you can start with an upgraded Ultimate. The description is slightly misleading, but the Info button on the store page is clear enough.
