US: Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (US timeline) *spoilers*

Hmm, apparently this latest episode actually had the LOWEST ratings in the US of any episode. I can only assume that people stayed away thinking that it would either spoil CA:TWS or that if they hadn't seen TWS then there was little point in watching this. One of the perils of having TV and the Movie universes linked. There's also the fact that it hasn't yet been renewed. I wouldn't hold your breath, sadly.

Shield's problem has been the initial episodes being pretty poor in comparison to what they're showing now.

So they lost like an initial 6 million viewers, but the plot's very very good really.

I think there's a good chance it'll get renewed. The money that Disney/Marvel will throw at ABC for doing that ALONE would ensure it's renewal.

Plus the ratings aren't THAT low. Still comfortably hitting six million a week live reaching nine million after PVR/catch up etc. That's a very respectable number indeed.

I wouldn't take the lack of renewal as anything yet, apart from confirming Once upon a time in Wonderland doesn't get another season nothing on ABC has been set one way or the other. It's a show that's going to continue no matter what just a matter of where. Even if (and tbh that's a big if) ABC drop it, it'll continue somewhere, ABC might be disappointed that it can't topple NCIS but even with the drop it's getting decent prime time ratings.

They'll never topple NCIS with Shield.

I can't imagine another channel picking it up, tons of programmes (That don't deserve to die) don't get picked back up.

Just look at Futurama.

The ratings are low compared to the potential for the first episode.

I think it'll deffo get a renewal though.

Incidentally, Disney own ABC so I think that makes it almost certain that it won't get canned until it starts getting truly abysmal numbers.

I don't often see films at the cinema, but so glad I went to see CA:TWS the weekend of release - else I'd have been thoroughly lost with what has happened in this!

As I did see CA on the weekend of release (a week prior to the US box office release) - this show was of course a week "behind", so I did think "huh?" until I saw the last episode (and twigged about the week's difference in releases)

It's all getting rather interesting :)

This show has really become quite stellar. I recommend those who switched off after the first 3-4 eps give it another chance.

I get the feeling that one of the things that this whole part of the storyline is gearing towards, is to replace certain parts of the 'team' that aren't quite working with the rest.

Looks like they aren't going to have a cop out with agent Ward after all.

Would appear so, but I dunno. Ward seems like a long running character. Something about it doesn't sit right, that he would then have to leave.

Still very interested to find out what Skye's deal is.
