US: Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (US timeline) *spoilers*

The last episode i thought was quite good, but the previous episode, the acting of the two techie's annoyed me a bit, especially that woman. I don't see why technie's are always displayed as scared weak people who are genius's but at the same time completely stupid beyond any normal person.

But the last episode was quite cool and the main char the old guy, i am starting to not dislike his acting as much and starting to get used to it.

I swear, there is something about the way they are playing with Melinda May, she is too calm, even when under the influence, she was controlled, I know that it was supposed to shine a light on the darkness, and her excuse was that she looks on it every day. But is it possible that she's more than they've even hinted at?

If she has no hate/rage, then the staff would have been ineffective, but she controlled it with ease.. she does not compute..

"Did I fall asleep?"

"For a little while"

:D

It had to be done.

This show is definitely picking up. The first few episodes were somewhat poor, and seemed to lack direction. But it's improving. I have hope for this series yet.

Got to disagree I thought it was a step backwards afters the last few weeks, I think it might have been a bit better without the thor tie in.

Hmm... Well, I agree in that the episode was not as good as the previous two (which were the best two of the series so far), but it was another solid episode of better quality than the first few episodes.

It's more the direction it's heading. After episodes 3, 4, 5 I was worried that it was descending into "Smallville-style" absurdity, but I'm pleased that it seems to be taking a different path. I don't expect every episode to be amazing, but I do want a show to have a sense of direction. And it seems that SHIELD is finally starting to establish its direction.

I'll admit that the Thor tie-in was a bit superficial, but at least they didn't run too hard with the promotional aspect. By watching the trailer you already know more than enough to understand the link to this episode.

I think the problem is that there are too many stories up in the air at the moment.. The main ones of course being "what really happened to Coulson?" and "who were Skye's parents?", its all a problem of character development, and no doubt will be sorted as things go on, but for now, they're in conflict.

Yes but all television shows start out this way, passing out threads on each character and progressing their arcs as the characters grow...this is kind of how storytelling works on TV?

That did make me smile as you knew as soon as he said it what the response was going to be. I do wonder though whether they are double bluffing us about Coulson. They are doing everything to make it seem like he is a life model decoy but I am starting to wonder whether it is really that Coulson fears he is an LMD hence the medical and the dream when in reality he really did survive Loki stabbing him.

If he did survive, then why are the files about it, classified in such a way that Coulson is denied access, what are Shield hiding from him?

It isn't a perfect theory, I just think when a show (or film) is trying so hard to point in one direction then I become suspicious that the opposite is true.

Loved this weeks, as farfetched as it seemed at times.

Brilliant bits of character development in it, real insight to May's past, and by extension, Phil's.
