*** Mass Effect 3 ***

Why is there always someone moaning about graphics in every pc game thread I go into? Seriously people, gameplay >> graphics.

Anyway, from what little I've read as I'm trying to stay unspoiled, there is much more customisation this time around. I'm really looking forward to this.

Because graphics count aswell,so whats the point im all this decent hardware we have if we can't use it,so i gather you will play this game on a console rather than a pc,also the gameplay isnt all that on this series,a bit wooden even.

Graphics in these games are very important IMO. Would you really care or bother with story choices if the game was built on minecraft graphics?!

Graphics count the least imo. Story and gameplay are far more important. Pointless wishing for it anyway, game developers wont spend a fortune making a game using cutting edge graphics for a small percentage of the already minority of people who game on pc. You wont see a leap in pc graphics until the next console generation is out.

Mass effect 2 was a decent looking game. Compare it to something like Skyward Sword which has pretty awful graphics and is still a great game. I'll get this for the xbox since I played the other 2 on there.

I just hope Bioware don't screw this up, they've been my favourite games this gen.

edit: Amraam, not sure if serious.

Because you can go back to games that have depth such as deus ex etc over and over again and it doesnt matter that the gfx are crap but games like cod need to the gfx to keep them up to date as the gameplay just doesnt compensate for the crap gfx.

ME1 looked good for the time yes,i was a bit dissapointed in ME2 it lacked polish, even indie games look rather good nowdays, how many of us would have bought BF3 if it used the same BF2 engine,i certainly would have not.

Well no because bf3 does not really provide superior gameplay to bf2 so its a totally different to talking about gameplay and gfx in the me franchise.

Why do people always argue over gfx vs gameplay? In this day and age, all AAA titles should have a combination of pleasing visuals and good gameplay. There's really no excuse for a AAA game with the budgets they have to have sub par gfx - and no the awesome plot etc doesn't make up for it because were the gfx better, the game overall would benefit.

The above doesn't reflect my opinion of ME3 gfx, because I think they're rather nice - just annoys me how people always state that good gameplay means gfx are allowed to be crap

I agree, especially in a game like this where the better the graphics, the more the game will benefit, as it all adds to the immersion.

I really don't want to see some of the awful textures from ME2! Once you notice them they can really annoy you and almost spoil some scenes.

I only ever looked at Mirandas ass, so they never bothered me.

Which game over the past few years has released with crap graphics (wii excluded)? I'd go as far as to say every 360/ps3 era game have been decent. They're not at the level of the witcher 2 but its not like they're horrible and detract from the gameplay experience. The only game I've played recently which had somewhat meh graphics was the old republic and thats an mmo.

Anyway, this is dragging the thread off topic. :)

^ dat ass!

Spook187 quite frankly if the graphics being like ME2 bothers you then why don't you just take a seat on the naughty step and think about what you've done. :p

lol,i only want the game to look half decent,a good polish isnt much to ask for.dont get me wrong i love Mass Effect i want it to shine.

I'm just playing through ME2 again now in readiness for ME3 being released, i find the graphics perfectly fine. Sure there are lots of nicer looking games out there but i still find it totally acceptable.

Sure they're hardly spectacular graphics compared to some games.

But they are sufficient to showcase the visual style (which is excellent) and allow it to shine.

Demo is coming out on the 14th February, available for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 simultaneously.

Personally, I won't be touching the demo as I want a spoiler free, unfamiliar experience. Great news for those who want a taster of what's to come though. :)
