*** Mass Effect 3 ***

That's a bit harsh.

Don't play 30-40hrs of excellent game, just because the last 30mins is pants.
Maybe but the ending makes everything rather pointless. I don't want to replay the game now. Shall I rescue some scientists? ....no point because they will die on the Citadel with everyone else.
Most powerful moment in the game for me(and there were sooooo many) was Legions death:(
And the destruction of Thessia and Shepards talk with the ambassador just after

Actually I might replay it and let Marauder Shields have his moment

It's an odd one this... The ending to the "Game" wasn't really that bad but I think it's because it is Mass Effect in which people have dedicated 120+ hours into and how the previous games made your actions purposeful has made people slightly angry.

I don't think the last scenes were great and could have been far better but I did really enjoy the build up to the end of the game in which most of the conversations felt meaningful with comments about your actions in previous games.

I'm guessing that Bioware has big plans for DLC as they mentioned months before release and they are probably trying to find an elegant way of adding it. This has left the end of the game wide open for hardcore invested fans but Bioware knows they are going to buy the DLC anyways ;)

Actually the Normandy is explainable,

there isn't any timeline, the only person we are aware of that is left while Shep is on the Citadel is the main guy who tells him the Citadel hasn't fired. We have no idea how long Shepard was unconscious before stepping into the beam.

A full retreat could have been signalled and the Normandy along with loads of other people fled, its stupid but its possible, only because the reapers magically let a crapload of shuttles land on earth without trouble, if that is plausible(but a massive stupid plothole) then there's nothing stopping the remaining crew going back the same way and them heading to a regrouping point in another system.

Its still daft, you can spin anything, it doesn't matter, what matters is how the player feels/reacts AS HE PLAYS it, and as I played it nothing made sense, it was irksome and stupid. Simple as that, they can release a DLC that "fixes" everything by explaning it a la Lost..... badly, it won't change the fact that I played 20 mins of utter turd at the end of well over 100hours gaming across the trilogy, expected an ending and didn't get one. Nothing can stop that from not having happened, so utter failure, nothing more or less.

Even then, and that is a leap, there is too much that doesn't make sense for me to believe that anyone in their right mind could think this was an acceptable ending......How come Joker didn't break any bones for example?

A new ending would be a total cop out and a fail imo, but would fix the game for me

It still doesn't make sense because the 2 squad mates you took with you can appear on the Normady at the end. So it doesn't make sense regardless of how you spin it.

I think I probably will replay the series, but i'll do it in a way i'd never normally play, just to see how extreme I can make the differences.

Like don't do any loyalty missions in ME2, go save the crew straight away, save Mordin in ME3, doublecross the Krogan, etc etc.

I don't want to defend bioware at all, but they made a huge complex universe that requires maintenance, ultimately this perhaps more indicates that the ME3 was rushed.

The game was originally meant to ship in time for Xmas, but was pushed back because it wasn't going to be ready in time. And possibly because of the plot leak.

When you play the end missions on Earth it's fairly obvious they rushed parts of it due to time constraints. Either that or quite a large chunk of it was done out-house.

Quite a lot of it feels empty / have a distinct lack of atmosphere considering this is meant to be the end battle.

The conversations you have with the characters / team members you've met during the series were too short & empty feeling as well. A lot of it felt a bit cheesy.

Taking out the AA gun was good though with the lighting effects. That one did nail the atmosphere fairly well. Pity the rest really didn't.

And the message box right at the end is the final kick in the teeth, esp as I get a black screen after clicking it & have to alt+f4 to get out of ME3.

All in all, I still blame the Star Wars mmo for how ME3 turned out.

Bioware just stretched themselves too far trying to do both at the same time.

The lesser cash cow, in Big Brother EA's eyes, was always going to come out 2nd best between the two.

From the state of that pathetic ending I'd have waited another 6 months easy. Now anything else they do regarding the ending (from public outcry) will just feel like a peace offering, as if trying to placate the crowd, ultimately spoiling the experience.

Been letting me down for awhile now Bioware have. Time for another dev to rise up and take over.

I think if you ask any fan and they would have waited longer to get a decent game lol

We all would, but accountants dictate how long you can spend on development, and their time & allocated $$$'s had obviously ran out.

ME3 was originally due to be released just before Xmas so they had already pushed it back, costing more money.

As for the Ashes DLC, it's just a cheap way to claw back more money to cover the cost of developing ME3 and SWTOR imho.

He is a pretty good character, and being a Prothean he should have been in the game by default. Which by all accounts he was.

I might actually start ME2 again and choose every renegade option and let everyone die, including Shepard. That is a proper ending!

Unbelievable!

“There are many different endings. We wouldn’t do it any other way. How
could you go through all three campaigns playing as your Shepard and
then be forced into a bespoke ending that everyone gets? But I can’t
say any more than that…” - Mike Gamble
Interviewer: [Regarding the numerous possible endings of Mass Effect 2] “Is that
same type of complexity built into the ending of Mass Effect 3?”
Hudson: “Yeah, and I’d say much more so, because we have the ability to
build the endings out in a way that we don’t have to worry about
eventually tying them back together somewhere. This story arc is
coming to an end with this game. That means the endings can be a lot
more different. At this point we’re taking into account so many
decisions that you’ve made as a player and reflecting a lot of that
stuff. It’s not even in any way like the traditional game endings,
where you can say how many endings there are or whether you got
ending A, B, or C.....The endings have a lot more sophistication and
variety in them.”

“We have a rule in our franchise that there is no canon. You as a player
decide what your story is.”

This game seems to work good in 3D except the aiming is off....you have to aim like an inch or so to the left which is a shame i guess it's due to no 3D profile yet.

Oh well least the fps cap unlock works fine in this at 120hz.:)

How do you remove the FPS cap on this? :)

The word bespoke in that quote doesn't make any sense. Bespoke means custom-made, unique, tailored. You can't have a "bespoke ending that everyone gets", because if everyone gets it, it's not bespoke.
