*** Mass Effect 3 ***

Waiting for my copy to arrive from the jungle, I bet it appears on Friday.
Well hopefully anyway, I don't want to see another GAME style email saying EA screwed up again.

Two and a half hours in and not one comment about how good it is..?

Textures dont seem any better compared to the demo, although it still looks good most of the time. Art direction is as good as it was in ME2, if not a bit better.

Poor animations on Shep & Anderson are still there in the opening level. Cringe-worthy considering it's the first thing people see. Suprised they didn't fix it.

Spotted another couple of minor issues, which will be fixed with a patch I expect. Nothing game breaking so far, just quirks in cutscenes.

Basically just more of the same in comparison to ME2, which is a good thing. Combat's a bit better. New enemy types are a nice change.

Combat is a lot more free flowling vs the clingy feel of ME2's combat. You can roll from barrier to barrier now ala Gears of War style. Infact so far combat imo vs ME2 is a great deal better. A good amount of gore with kills and decapitations :)

Glad others got it to work with the method I mentioned :)

I'll post it again for anyone who missed it. To unlock the game without using a VPN program:

Search proxy in windows, then click: configure proxy server -> LAN settings -> checked use a proxy server and put in 210.176.171.237 with port 8080.

I actually used 210.176.171.236 with port 8080 to unlock it, but either is fine.

Also, anyone got to one of the first side missions and come across a CTD after a cutscene? It's when....
you go to recover the prothean artifact. After getting the signal that only you can understand, it crashes when I try to carry on. Wierd.
Will try it again, otherwise I'll have to load an older save and skip that mission for now.

Graphics wise, a little better than ME2, gameplay is a more refined version than ME2 as well. In fairness it's just like carrying on from the last game, which is no way a bad thing.

Hooray for Gears of Mass Effect

What is wrong with that exactly?.....Do you think it is unrealistic for someone to be able to do a roll?.....Or do you think it would be more unrealistic if you were unable to do that and you had to stand up and walk a few yards?

Sorry, there are no doubt things to moan about in this game, but that isn't one of them!:p

For anyone who gets the issue I mentioned above, i found a way round it. There are 2 info pods you must go to for the mission. If you get CTD on one of them, go to the other one first. All was fine for me when I did that :)

I think Jongo was saying he was crashing during it too. I'm going to attempt it next. I guess we'll see.

Perhaps but it does kinda lend itself to the environments being designed to such a degree that it would make someone with OCD blush. You'll get chest high walls lined up neatly so you can roll from cover to cover. It is a pretty major restriction as far as environments go...

Seems MP access for the demo has been revoked so I decided to actually play the SP. Apart from dive rolling it is identical to ME2. All they've done is incorporate the DLC weapons like Mattock into the regular game so they're more balanced. It just means the next bunch of DLC weapons will be more overpowered instead so nothing will change.
