*** Mass Effect 3 ***

I'm sad there is no FOV slider.

Played a few missions of Co-op - it's a fair challenge even on Bronze probably due to no one having unlocks yet. I found solider class massively underwhelming despite starting at level 4. I tried a Vanguard and it seemed much more powerful, even at level 1!

Now for some main story goodness...

I started reading back up on this thread and noticed ppl had already started playing it O_o so I stopped reading :p

I'm going to steer clear of this thread now till I have played through it. But have fun ppls and see ya once I've completed it :p

Good idea. Time to disappear for a while. ;)

I assume you mean MP? Bronze is a whole different game to the higher difficulties going by the limited demo options. Krogan Soldiers are lolworthy, you see them rampaging around the battlefield, almost invincible (except turrets which are ****ing overpowered and gun you down almost instantly), charging head first at everyone and generally killing everyone in sprinting melee attack and Vanguards can charge spam around the battlefield recharging their barriers to 100% each time and shooting people in the face with a shotgun (once you get the shotgun accuracy mod they are so much more accurate than before). I tried Soldier and really didn't like it at low levels, the AR just didn't seem all that good. Silver/Gold are obviously a bit more tactical.

And unless things change, a word of warning for skill allocation. There are enough points at lvl20 for 4 full skills, so either leave one or you'll have to skip the last level on one other.

Vanguards (at least in the demo) are a PITA. Charging all over the place leaving people like my Infiltrator running around the map reviving them rather than scoring headshots on Phantoms!

Seen a video online of four Krogan soldiers doing Firebase White on Gold just using headbutts. Good times.

Have to say the first few hours ingame that I've witnessed - I am really impressed. Combat is really good and fluid, and the set pieces I've seen so far are way better than ME2. I can barely remember ME1 despite playing it to the death so can't comment.

The humour with the characters is quite hilarious. Found myself laughing out loud many times with the crew antics.

Load times are almost seamless. In ME2 you'd spend 10+ seconds looking at that normandy schematic load screen constantly whereas in ME3 you're looking about 2 seconds. It is a lot more seamless.

FoV is an issue, as with rough textures in places - I wouldn't moan about either but both are rather apparent straight away.

As Sid the Turtle said above, check out the @AllianceNewsNet Twitter feed for live tweets on what is going on. Very impressive that.

Are you trying to tell me your job isn't to cloak and go revive me so I can charge again and restore barriers the moment I get up?! :p

Finally did it, managed to finish 1&2 as a Paragon, in time for no.3 :D

I only planned on doing the bare essentials, but I forgot how much I enjoyed both games.
Are any of the DLC's for no.2 worth purchasing? Just wondering if I can get them finished in time for fridays.

Well, some DLC's for ME2 have little tie-ins in ME3.

The 2 I've encountered so far are
Shadow broker and Overlord

They don't resoundingly change the story or anything, but yeah just some little bits added in.

Tried it in 3D but it had crosstalk, anyone playing tried 3D for it yet? if so found a solution? only game so far i've had the issue but guess it's due to it being extremely new. :p

Good game so far and hope it's fairly long.

Did anyone else prefer ME1s gameplay? Or more so use of medipacks, seemed more talents, ability to crouch and the overheat ammo style, oh and choosing the better weapon/armour seemed easier to compare stats or are they all the same in 2? I've recruited everyone and looks like I have to do some loyalty missions if I want to progress in 2 or have I done something wrong :p?
