*** Mass Effect 3 ***

Well... completed ME1 a few weeks ago, and loved it. The last sections had me up till 5am the story just kept me going. There were tedious bits, like taking ages to drive around on planets on the mako, and having to randomly try and find minerals... but overall, a very enjoyable game. Story was excellent.

ME2 I completed that last night... well I think the changes they made to the squad and combat systems were not that good.. I think the ME1 system was slightly better. And planet scanning.. arghhhhhhh. Just so tedious, but it had a purpose... a little work to get some upgrades. Other things I didn't like about ME2.. were the relative lack of customisation. ME1 was much better, and gave a much bigger variety of armour and looks. Also.. a wierd thing.. I though Joker 'looked' better in ME1 than ME2. I felt that ME2 was generally dumbed down compared to the first one.

However.. I liked that they tried new things with ME2 compared to the first one, although I despised working for cerberus lol. It also seemed less story driven. (Did anyone else think the 'fuel' noise for ship was wierd in ME2?)

that sounds just about the general consensus on them both.

I admit I am looking forward to the 3rd installment now.. although I'll have to pay the full price for it (i.e. not Steam sales)... and whilst I like them... £70 for a collectors edition just ain't gonna happen for me.

I think the co-op option is interesting, although I'll have to wait and see how that works with a story mode. Seems a little er... odd. How can you have two people controlling looking around the galaxy, and walking around the ship etc at the same time.

I think the co-op is just specific co-op missions and not the whole game.

Just finished my second run through of ME2 and loved every bit of it.

It's getting closer to the release date now, albeit about 3 months :D.

Does anyone know the best place to Pre-Order the collectors edition for PC?

Seems DLC is already confirmed for single player.

Also, you apparently get three game mode options before you start single player:

Action - automatic conversation choices, normal difficulty.

Story - full manual conversation choices, easy combat difficulty.

Roleplaying - full manual conversation choices, normal combat difficulty, the standard Mass Effect experience.

Individual settings can be changed after game mode selection.

God damn it, if this comes out soon then I'll have yet more backlog to play through. Also I need to redo the last mission of ME2 seeing as Tali ended up dying. :( :( :(

Jesus, even offering automatic conversation choices as an option makes me worry for the future of humanity. And I mean real humanity, not pretend Mass Effect humanity.

Yes I know I don't have to use the option, and I never will.

It was done to give people who get bored by the dialogue and choices a chance to skip it, to me it wouldn't be Mass Effect without the dialogue choices but I suppose they have to try and cater for everybody.

This.

With multiplayer and this they are trying to cater for people who normally wouldn't buy the game due to its heavy story and single-player setting. I don't mind them doing this to boost sales as long as it doesn't detract from the single-player aspect and the story which is where my interest lies.

So true, if adding ways to attract more players and therefore more money without ruining the core of the game then i'm all for it.
