*** Mass Effect 3 ***

The third category is for people who aren't complete retards and realise that the only way EA are going to change how they do things is if you don't buy the game, full stop.

But not enough people will do it, so it will accomplish nothing.

I considered boycotting the game and if I thought it would make a difference in the way EA will operate in the future, I would.....Plus this is Mass Effect, and i really want to play the saga to its conclusion, so I will put up with it this time. Will not be buying any dlc at all though.

Because apparently its separated the vast majority of people into 3 categories. Those who want to be violated without lube and so bought the DLC or paid the premium for the collectors edition and those who want to be violated with lube who are 'disgusted' by EA's sudden inclusion of major day one premium day one DLC and are still buying the game but not the DLC. The third category is for people who aren't complete retards and realise that the only way EA are going to change how they do things is if you don't buy the game, full stop. Unfortunately it seems the latter category is in the minority and so the number of people who don't like lube have more than made up for the loss of profits.

So its only going to continue. Don't worry, the next 2 games based in the ME universe will come loaded with DLC for you to throw your wallet at.

You seem to be confused. If nobody bought the game then their wouldn't be anymore mass effect games. If nobody bought the day one dlc then their wouldn't be anymore day one dlc.

They used the first part of the game from the demo and didn't fix it one bit!

Running Animation...
Textures...

Urg atleast allow me to fall off the edge! and it even has Bioware's something awesome button. Press F or Space and something awesome happens :D

Just finished it.

I....really don't know what to say.

I am just.....I don't know, the ending was just so far beyond anything I could have considered.

So yeah.....

It's over and I have no idea what just happened but I feel utterly empty.

Erm... oh dear?

I don't want to know - let me hold on to the optimism for as long as I can!

^Oh ****.
One of the tracks on the soundtrack made me wonder (being vague to avoid potential spoilers). I'm going to put it to the back of my mind until I get there... :/

ARGH.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO THINK!

For those who either want it spoiled or don't care:

Ok, so there are three endings:

1. You control the reapers and die. (Renegade choice)
2. You destroy the reapers + all synthetic life and you die or don't die depending on the retarded "points" mechanic. (Paragon choice, apparently)
3. You rewrite the DNA of all life in the galaxy to merge organic and synthetic life and then you die. (Grey area)

In all three the mass relays are destroyed. This leads to the after credits scene in which we discover that Shephards tale is being told by an old man to a child thousands of years after the ending, they call him "The Shephard" and have never met any other races or visited another star.

In short, nothing you do matters, at all, whatever you do the entire Mass Effect universe is, to all intense and purposes, dead.

I think I have read about all the endings on the Bioware forums. Was not impressed, but this was when only a few people had played it and I wasn't sure whether to take it as truth.

MASSIVE POTENTIAL SPOILER DO NOT CLICK UNLESS YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE GAME

Basically is it that the crew are stranded at the end whatever happens, so no endings are actually "good endings"?

Who said anything as mundane as boycotting? Saying you're boycotting a game gets you laughed at ever since the whole Modern Warfare 2 'boycott' where most of them got it anyway. I can wait till its on sale for sub £10. I can honestly say I am in no rush to play the SP because I don't believe Bioware will have done it justice. The MP would've been nice as a standalone for £10 because I did enjoy it on the demo. The game was clearly designed using as little money as possible so as to maximise profits. The interface and menus are almost identical to ME2. Given the massive changes between ME1 and ME2 they were clearly cutting corners.

No I'm quite sure I know what I said... you seem to be the one confused

You gotta love the keyboard bindings. At least 10 keys available around the WASD set up and instead they used one key for everything.

Press Space for:
Dodge/Roll
Sprint/Storm
Take/Leave Cover
Revive Teammates
Activate Objects

So in short, what happens in MP is. You want to revive a teammate? You take cover next to them. You want to Sprint? You dive roll. You want to leave cover? You dive roll to another bit of cover. Its ridiculous to say the least.

Is it not very long then or have you been hammering it?

So.....do you wish to retract this statement is the question?:D

.....no?

In all honesty it is a great game, there are some truly superb moments in it and to a point I love it.

Sadly it has as many faults as it does qualities and the ending has just killed it for me.

I think I may actually write up a full review at some point over the next couple of days, this game has me seriously conflicted.

Someone mentioned you need the DLC to get a better ending? The 'from ashes' one i assume.

No idea, I've been trying to find out a well.

The only things I ccan say for sure is that you don't need to play MP if you don't want to, all it means is that you have to do most if not all of the side/quests and scanning.
