****MASS EFFECT : ANDROMEDA****

I agree:) I still occasionally fire up ME3 MP and always have a blast:cool:

never gets old:cool::D

Ever played a modded game with dozens of abominations and husks running around? :D

Unfortunately I don't have better screenshots - only these that got stuck in a spawn.

To be honest, I found the Mass Effect series very over hyped.

The graphics where poor (or am I miising the point, in that at the time they where out it was good?)

Look forward to four tho, as not saying it wasnt fun.

Mass effect graphics have never been what I'd call poor, not really cutting edge but solid if uninspired use of the unreal engine.

ME1 possibly looks a bit dated today.

Hmmm... Kind of. I mean, this is bioware so the backgrounds are always going to be low-res and pretty ghastly, but imo they did facial animations and the stuff that really matters well enough that I can't see it ever getting dated tbh. The armour though is definitely disappointing, and needs a high res mod really or the poor textures can really catch your eye and get in the way.

ME1 in 2007 looked great. The characters look a little wooden when playing it now, but it's still a great game. IIRC it only got beaten by bioshock for goty.

Besides, the point of the game is not to have crysis-like visuals - the story, characters, roleplaying and combat are the most important elements - all of which are still far far better than most other games, even new ones today.

However - the facial animations and models in ME3 were weird IMO - something was not right. I felt they looked better in ME2.

The ending of ME1 was the most epic gaming experience I have ever had.
Agreed - Bioware just couldn't match it again in the sequels... :/

only thing that's annoying me is, 1 and 3 are on origin and 2 is on steam.

anyone ever done the transfer of character profile to each game thingy?

For transferring characters they are all kept in documents, so it is simple. It will do it automatically.

Personally, even on games where I am happy with the outcomes I use the save editor to touch it up a bit.

Yeah Bioware have never been great artists or map makers. Their background and level designs are always so clunky and rigid. But then it's never really mattered because they focussed on others things.

I do remember thinking Mass Effect looked great at the time thinking Mass Effect looked great. It was the loading and texture pop that was the problem. It looks dated now and the movement more than anything is really bad.

For the Mass Effect series I think ME2 was the pinnacle. While the first Mass Effect's ending was brilliant (including the build up to it) I felt the game overall didn't really know what it wanted to be. But Mass Effect 2 got it spot on in terms of it's gameplay and roleplay balance. Whereas the overall story of ME2 was not as "epic" as the first, it dripped with atmosphere and did what it chose to do brilliantly.

Still have memories of the chill I felt controlling Joker when the Collectors invaded the Normandy.
Mass Effect 3 up until the end was going well. It lost the balance that ME2 had a little, but it was a thoroughly enjoyable and immersive experience (again, until the last 10-15 minutes.)

Really?
I thought they were great. Graphics too, especially the opening mission in ME3.

Everything does look a touch cartoony/animated but then most games do to my eyes.

I thought 3 had the absolute best atmosphere ever. It actually felt like being in a warzone, especially levels like the Turian camp. A lot of that was down to the feelings that the characters created, though.

I'm always of the opinion that
the best section of the entire series was from Virmire (if done last) through to the Citadel Lockdown, then Ilos and the End Run - culminating in that fantastic final scene and M4 part 2 for the perfect credits.

Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing topped that in ME2 and ME3.
Closest was Mordin's final scene on Tuchanka, and Legion on Rannoch.

Hmm, considering picking up ME1 as I only had it on Xbox but I remember it being rather clunky and of the three much more RPG and Stat heavy. Still worth playing on PC?
