fireworks, fertiliser and a grain silo. Not great.
Not wishing to start a game of tragedy top trumps, but I don’t think I’ve seen something so bombastically shocking since 9/11.
Horrible incident, whatever has happened.
I'm surprised these kind of incidents don't happen more regularly at portsin some parts of the world adherence to good practices, etc. go largely out the window despite vast quantities of these kind of materials stored close together.

You can see and hear fireworks going off after the initial, much smaller fire/explosion in the video in this tweet.
By Christ though, that's a blast and a half.
@SVNewsAlerts: #BREAKING - #Lebanese media claims the MASSIVE #explosions in #Beirut occurred in a fireworks warehouse. Fireworks can be seen in the video, moments later a secondary explosion caused most of the damage. #Lebanon https://twitter.com/SVNewsAlerts/status/1290674216623366144/video/1
Still packed a decent thump from a fair distance away:
If this was even a small nuclear, these scenes would have been significantly more damaged. This is the blast or energy release. Got to be 10-20 MT. Will be very interesting to see what actually caused this. I don’t buy the current claims.
Trump saying it was a bomb.
Trump saying it was a bomb.
It does look like it
Looks like surface flash from the flashpoint of the big explosion reflected off the earlier smoke cloud.
I wouldn't rule out a strike on arms being moved through there though - since Israel start interdicting that stuff they've had to use cover more and more.
It does look like it
Well technically it was a bomb waiting to go off...
But if Trump said it, it's probably not true. Because he lies about everything.
You can see turbulance/shockwave in the air just before the explosion, ie rocket turbulence.
Now why would Israel strike Lebanon?
