Massive Car insurance costs?

My current insurer, Moja, won't quote me on their website either. Haven't received renewal notice yet, not had this happen before. Might the renewal offer say they don't want to make me an offer?
Just tried them, and they won't cover me, either.

EDIT - Been on the phone with Admiral, and they've reduced the renewal to £370 with essentially no changes to the policy. That represents 'only' a £45 increase over last year, which is about 14%. Considering some of the price increases I've heard about, I'm happy with that result :)

So in short I earned £160 for ten minutes work, always worth giving them a call and crazy that I can insure a Ferrari 360 with modifications for £290. :D

That is something I've found crazy - I've dabbled over the years with the idea of getting something a bit higher end performance and the quotes come back at almost half what it is costing me to insure a Qashqai :(

The joys of how the logic behind the quote process, statistically maybe less likely to be in an accident than a model that's more common, among a lot of other factors :)

Just doing some quotes a month and a half early, just to get an idea. On comparison sites, cheapest quote is £702, which is Admiral, who I’m currently with. Last year I paid £496…

Hopefully NONE of the car insurance companies will pay out for damages caused by idiots ignoring the road closed signs due to flooding and get their cars stuck in there in the past few storms/periods of very heavy rain. So why do the drivers still do this inane act?

That is completely different to cars getting flooded when they have parked in a car park, road or driveway and the area around car floods.

I'm sure you posted this almost exact reply the other week. Insurance companies won't pay out if the owner has been negligent and gone hooning through flood water

That does seem good. My renewal was cheaper than all quotes on a comparison site. Was still a 40% increase!

Tesla Model 3 performance
Direct line declined to renew because of 2 accidents (1st with damage to the other car, literally 2 scratches, 2nd more serious, both drivers at fault, around 10k damage)
6 points (3 was stupid going 24 in 20 zone and other one 36 in 30)

now I am getting crazy quotes
I was paying 3.5k with Directline

The cheapest that comes up is Admiral for 5.8k

Any advice?

I want to cry when I read about your complaints at 1k insurance:/

would any training course help?

Can't work out if this is a humble-brag, troll or genuine.

Tesla 3 performance is group 50 insurance, out of 50. it's the highest group.

It sounds like you claimed insurance on a couple scratches, which would have been obvious to impact insurance down the line (likely WAY more than just dealing with outside of insurance).

your profile says a location of London, so likely a high insurance risk there on top.

bottom line, if you want cheaper insurance then don't choose a car in the highest bracket...

humble brag? wow
plenty of teslas and expensive cars on the road!

had to claim insurance- other driver wanted to do it that way, second case damage was too big

Just asking for advice- if there are any companies that specialize in "those" cases or if passing any extra test would help from people's experience

Add a parent as a named driver, seems to be the default way to get a decent quote. But with 6 points and a number of claims, I can't see a big saving coming anytime soon until they are +5yrs old so no longer relevant to insurers.
