Sorry what's the QL? Never heard that term beforeThis won't cause you any problems, it's just that if the back bet wins, you lose your QL and won't get a free bet. If the lay wins, you'll get the free bet and get more profit than had you calculated as 1st bet refund. There's a vid in the tutorial section of Yesbets.

I'll hope the back bets lose then (quite likely by looking at the odds I think?) so I can cash in on the free bets
Cool, I shouldn't have jumped the gun lol, should have checked out that video.. will take a look tonight!![]()
Hi All,
Just coming back to Cheltenham bets,
My bank roll is fairly limited, so I'll be targeting the First and Last race offers on SkyBet and BetWay. I expect Combined Liability should help me out a little here (assuming I've understood it correctly - about 50% of my bank roll currently in SMarkets).
On this, am I correct in thinking you Back and Lay as usual, but only the max Lay will be deducted from SMarkets / BetFair. So for example, if I have £100 of available liability in SMarkets, I can spread this across as many bets on the same race as I like, assuming they are all under £100 - correct?
That said, anyone that might be targeting the same offers, has anyone done any calculations yet? I'm yet to do some, but it seems the QL is a little more then usual, assuming the back bet loses of course.
wait till tomorrow when the money starts to pile in and QL should be smaller.
I'm really struggling for time but the Skybet offer is an easy one to do for sure. Also the High 5 is decent on hills. Wish I had more time but too much work on just now!
QL = Qualifying Loss. It's the amount of money you are guaranteed to lose on a normal matched bet (normally acceptable because you are using it to gain a free bet from which you'll extract 80% of the value). Occasionally you can have a qualifying gain where no matter the outcome you'll make a small amount on a regular matched bet. This is known as an arb.
Exactly as BigT says, it's the hit you take to unlock the free bet. It stands for "qualifying loss" and is probably the most commonly used word in matched betting![]()
Thanks - i will try, also quite limited on time tomorrow. Though i will have time Wed and Thu.
Was i correct on that combined liability piece? Thanks
lol - wish I had about 5 spare hours!!!! Could do about a grand a day!!!
With this offer you dont really want to back it in hopes of a faller as chances are relatively slim, you want to back and lay horses with a small QL preferably that has other refund possibilities and if it happens just use SNR on the calculator with the refund to make a profit.tbh there's a fair case there to take this week off work to do these instead!
How would one take advantage of a free bet faller refund?

Has anyone got experience of withdrawing from Betway? I just completed there £100 free bet signup and completed the £1000 wagering requirement and had the worst case scenario happen - nearly every bet won in the bookie and I'm now looking at a balance of over a grand. Im a bit concerned they will try and get out of paying me due to the below condition:-
Its really messed up cheltenham week for me as 2/3rds of my bankroll are tied up in their account!
