Matched betting - who's done it and who's good at it? (No Referrals)

The only problem I had was with Sportingbet, they are absolute scum, if you do match betting, avoid them! They advertise a £50 risk free bet, I bet £50 and lost, they refused to give me the £50 free bet without any reason at all and said they can do so because it's in their T&Cs (doesn't sound very legal, do I have a leg to stand on if I report them to my bank?)

Did you lay your £50 bet at an exchange? If you did (and you chose wisely with the odds) then you won't be more than a few pounds out.

eh? report them to your bank - what does it have to do with your bank???

they don't want to spend some of their marketing budget giving you a free bet, they refer you to their terms and conditions (which likely allow them to do this else they wouldn't be referring you to them) - given that you're clearly looking to just take advantage of the free bet anyway it seems they've made the right call... move on to the next one and forget about it

Sportingbet advertise a RISK FREE £50 bet, it is false advertising, I qualified for it and they refuse to honour it without a reason, 'just because they can', it doesn't sound very legal (never mind terrible customer relations), such a T&C surely can't overwrite British law on false advertising. Shame on me for wanting to take advantage of innocent bookmakers who never harm any one

they've not refused to honour it without reason though, they've obviously made a good choice from their perspective in this instance... don't get emotional about it, tis one offer - you've lost, just move one. Hardly terrible customer relations, they don't care about you - you're not the sort of customer they want so why worry if they've upset you.

you've still not explained what it has to do with your bank?

They gave no reason, just because they can isn't a reason, its an excuse. They have no proof I was matched betting, how can they make good choice when doing a stab in the dark? If they don't care about a customer, then it is terrible customer relations, the customer may not always be right, but the customer is always the customer. They don't know what sort of customer I am. I did their sign up offer and they didn't do their end of the deal. I have a case still on going with them.

This is great and i'm up around 100-200. But its much more work than i originally thought. To make any decent money, you've really got to put the hours in a day. Apart from the weekend, i dont even have the time for an hour a day, so i think i'll quit while i'm ahead. If you've got the time its great, i just don't have that sort of time.

Picked this up again three weeks ago after not touching it from a year ago and exhausting the easy sign up offers - £1200 up so far. Would have been £1300 but got unlucky today with a couple of Bingo offers - oh well - it's all about the long term averages!

Don't under estimate the amount of time you need to put into it to make that kind of money though - esp sitting there watching the odds for the in play tennis offers! I'm putting in at least 4hrs during the day during the week. Can't really do the weekend offers as I want to spend time with the kids, not sit in front of a computer.

When I've worked through all the remaining offers I'll start multiple accounts next week and start them all again!

You've no chance pal - just move on. You'll get gubbed on quite a few accounts (I got gubbed on GUTS just for depositing £10 and losing £10!) - just how it goes with matched betting. Long term you need to start mug betting to keep the accounts open, especially with bookies like Paddy Power and Bet365 as they watch accounts like a hawk.

Used them for a free offer on some slots. Put £10 or something on and took over £600 - can't remember the total now, may have been £700+

The exchange should be open for you to use though as even if your lay bets win it's not thier money - it's other punters - they take their comission regardless.

I've NEVER heard of anyone getting banned from the exchange.

And if you're getting banned from sportbooks/casinos/slots then you aren't mug betting enough. For every free bet offer, aim to mug bet back 20-30% of your winnings. I know it's hard to lose £100 on purpose when you've just hit £500 on the slots, but you'll still £400 up.

You don't have anything still ongoing and you don't know what information they used to make their decision or where they get their information from, just move on. They evidently made the right call.

No, it is an evasion of the reason.

I don't?
If they have information that other bookies don't have, why don't they say it as a reason? All they know is I put £50 on a high odds horse.

Which is odd - that's not how a normal punter behaves, especially if your account doesn't have a good history of betting on horses.

I'd gub your account for that as well.

So you would gub your customers accounts because they bet £50 when you advertised a £50 risk free bet? Plus I don't consider doing a 6.0 bet odd when it is RISK FREE (the horse later became the second favourite)

AND I don't understand why people are come to the defence of bookmakers, they are parasites and they should be taken as the mugs at every opportunity. If I got a 1% chance of getting my £50 free bet I will take it, doesn't take long to write an email to their authorites
