Matrix Reloaded - Discuss *[WARNING SPOILER]*

Well, i just saw it at the cinema tongiht and have my own theory. I thought the film was good, about the same as The Matrix, but it did feel like a different film.

Anyway, heres my theory:

The 'real world' is infact a previous version of the matrix and when people become disconnected from the matrix they are going back to a previous incarnation of it. This is why Neo could stop the attacking machines at the end because he is in fact just in the Matrix, only a different version.

When agent smith transfered back through the phone into another dude in the 'real world', he could as he is a rogue program now, thus can trasnfer version barriers that he was restricted to before. Thats why he could take over the dude, but as it was an inferior version of the matrix he did not look like agent smith (as he was a newer program).

I dont know if im correct or not, hopefully i shall find out in September. But if i am - you heard it here first :D

I think you are supposed to feel clever that you "worked out" the matrix in a matrix theory when watching Reloaded - however i do believe that there will be some other explanation for the things that have happened. ;)

In the first one, Neo had two lives, a computer programmer and a computer hacker. IIRC he woke up to find himself in one then woke up again to find himself in the other. So the Matrix had two Matrices for Neo? Why though. Why did neo have two lives?

You sure? I am going to have to watch it again because I am sure he had two lives. Hmmmm....Ill be watching it tonite hopefully I guess

Leads two lifes :) Hacker by night as Neo, corporate computer slave by day as Thomas Anderson. One of them had a future, one of them didn't.

I've seen the second film twice, and I think Zion is part of an extended matrix. I think in the "real" world humans are being enslaved, not as batteries, but sleeping, as the AI machines are not allowed to kill them as they were created to serve not destroy.

Just another idea, we wont know till sept. This thread is not a spoiler for the third, unless you are braindead and cant think of a possible plotline for the third film.

If you watch the Animatrix clips that you can download from the net, you'll realise that the machines are more than capable of killing humans. In fact you get a full scale war, which is more a less a massacre. The machines are far superior, stronger, and better armoured than any human could attempt to be. They massacre any troops sent against them.

Another thought (prompted by the residual image thing - which I agree with)...

Totally unplot related

Why do we need a pigeon program? Surely if we are all attached to the matrix, then we have no idea what a pigeon is. No one has ever seen one.. Why not have a smutlze program?

It's not as if they we remember anything - else we would know there have been reincarnations of the matrix.. so why pamper to the what the real world used to be like?

Maybe the machines just wanted to make it as close to the actual reality as possible because when they created the "perfect world" matrix it was a complete failure. As such they just tried to make it as close to the original reality as possible.

Either that or they lack imagination.

but garp, if zion is indeed still in the matrix then everything in the animatrix would still be in the matrix would it not?

No.. see, Some of the Animatrix clips deal with how the war began between man and machine. How it all happened that we got attached to the matrix in the first place.

Whats intresting is that if the machines created Zion, why would they give us an accurate account of what happened before the matrix? All the history of man (up to the matrix) would have had to be told to each new population of Zion by the machines. Either directly or by "the one", so anything they say could have been adapted/created to ensure control over the population.

But thats not the way the movie was developed was it. LOL.

People always trying to make sense of the movie. And saying. Well they coulda done this or that. Well im sure they took it into account but decided to go a different way.

Like trinity maybe wouldnt go into the matrix. Knowing Neo told her something is wrong. This that and the rest of it.

Just aint like that
