What if you flick the BIOS switch?
Makes no difference.

What if you flick the BIOS switch?
If these ones are voltage locked then you'd be able to ask for a refund. But 1.256v is still quite a high voltage, and you won't get that on the top version.
I'd get in touch with CS and get them to ask the Asus rep.
I'm happy with the performance now its running ok. Just a bit annoyed that half the cards features are essentially useless. The hardware buttons to adjust voltage do nothing at all other than adjust the lights.
As above if the card would allow the voltage to be adjusted you could possibly clock higher or even lower the voltage to lower temps.
Both good points. More so the fact you could run lower voltage as 1.256v is way over kill to run the stock clocks on these cards.
VGA Hotwire connects card and ROG board voltage regulators for accurate and solder-free hardware-level voltage control.
TweakIt offers real-time fingertip-easy hardware level voltage adjustment by simply pressing the + and - buttons.

So I wonder if it's hard wired into the card or it can be rectified via a modified Bios. Or is it down to Gpu Tweak.
I think the fact the hard buttons on the card do nothing would say it's locked into the card. A bios might do something.
This might well explain why the Platinum I had wouldn't go above 1150 no matter what voltage I threw at it. Prolly just as well as I managed to get an awesome deal today on a MSI 7990 for £360
Is it stolen.....
