Matt's Mission For Size

Yes but I thought very light to strengthen this small area of my quad and try and bring it up to scratch with my right leg?

Guys,

Due to my knee obviously I have been keeping all my weight workouts to upper body parts....... This is deffo getting boring! Legs were my best day as I loved the compound elements.

Cant wait to get back to my Deads/Squats and leg press!

Ok updated pic as its been a while up to 11stone flat now so keeping going, obviously not training legs but upper body abit more.

Oh I meant damn in general to flat feet, I have a very flat left foot. Maybe not surprisingly, I also have a very stiff left ankle, and also on long walks etc my left knee gets tired first. Flat feet suck, and I wouldn't be suprised if yours have been a contributing factor to your knee issue. Suprised as well the physio didn't pick up n them and give you some advise on counter them along with your knee stretches etc, or did they?

Yes they did they have refereed me when im healed to have a GAIT running analysis which should correct my issues :S.

You should take a look at that xxxxxxx

For me it's less of an issue as I don't run, or do any cardio really, and I am actively working on fixing the issue with lots of mobility and soft tissue work, and making sure I walk properly.

With the gait analysis are they going to look at fixing the issue, or correcting it with decent footwear/orthotics?

For me I don't like the idea of orthotics, so I am going to try fix the issue , as I don't have cardio to contend with I have the luxury of time on my side. Also yours looks a lot worse then mine.

Well I keep thinking that I have not really put on any size/muscle in the 4months now it has been going, and its just majority of fat! (Bad side of head speaking I think).

So did a little side to side comparison and I am actually quite pleased with the results so far!

Also the knee is a lot better only pain now I get is going down stairs, Physio again tonight, but had him last night also and stated that I will be prescribed weight recovery exercises from Saturday so very low weight but high reps of various things!

GAIT analysis booked for next Wednesday as well.

Well Knee is coming on leaps and bounds now!

Went on Saturday for a bit of a warm up of the legs and see how I did.... Ended up doing a good set of 350kg Leg press! Felt awesome! Dead Lifts very good as well.

Only thing I found was a no no was squats, I wasnt willing to risk the squat rack so Just tried a non weight Hack Squat and that did cause not pain but discomfort. So very pleased with the progress so far.

Just need to find a way to hit my Quads in the mean time as Leg Press etc always seem to hit Glutes really well but never quads :(.

If squatting is hurting your knees you're doing it wrong. :(

However, I can't remember from your thread (not reading it again) what you actually injured, so this is probably being aggravated by bad movement.

Will have to dig out a paper on squatting and knee stress to look at the mechanics again...
