The author of that website (Robert Spencer) knows more about islam than you ever will.

Roffles...sure he does sure he does lol.

Id love to see him go up against some muslim scholars ie namely Dr Zakir Naik...i would love to see him debate with him;)....he wouldnt last a minute against him:p.

Out of curiosity, if the verdict of the Sharia court was that one party should be stoned to death.... what would happen? :p

That wouldnt happen in this country for a start;)....the Sharia courts that are here namely deal with civil cases and not criminal cases....

OK. Would you be in favour of allowing Sharia courts to rule on criminal matters in this country too?

Not specifically anything to do with Robert Spencer, but I'd take any articles from that site with a pinch of salt if I were you. I saw a write-up on there of an "issue" that happened in my location recently. It was filled with totally fabricated events.

The articles on that site come from external sources with a header usually written by Spencer.

Thanks ive read it and still think hes full of the smelly brown stuff...he clearly has absolutely no clue as to what hes talking about and i dont pay much attention to what he says and neither would i, if i wasnt muslim...hes a laughing joke in all honesty.

Im quite capable of forming my own decisions about my faith without having an ignorant sod like him telling me what i should question and not question...and for the record i do question my faith at certain points and always manage to get an answer that satisfies my curiousity...thats the beauty of islam, that we are allowed to ask questions despite what your fave website and the media have you believe:).

Anyhow please excuse me as i have a few non muslim friends coming around to enjoy some 110% halaal steaks rather than that rubbish non halaal meat....on nom nom nom:p

Okay another little think that irks me is why you're "supposed" to say Peace Be Upon Him when referring to the Prophet.

Now yes I know my background is Islamic but I'm not like most people and always keep an open mind and will favour facts over faith when weighing things in perspective but that doesn't mean I don't follow religion or respect it and its followers but I've thought about this before and to me, saying PBUH you're wishing that the Prophet has peace in the afterlife which means he COULD be suffering in the afterlife unless people wish him peace?

He's the Prophet so why would the living need to wish him peace when he's not going to be feeling anything but?

There are many other things that I wonder sometimes but it's a bit OT :p

I know, I read that site often. It still reflects badly on his credibility if he is happy to go to the lengths of writing an intro, but not carrying out basic checks to authenticate some of the "news" articles.

Sheikh Faiz-ul-Aqtab Siddiqi, whose Muslim Arbitration Tribunal runs the courts, said he had taken advantage of a clause in the Arbitration Act 1996.

Siddiqi said he expected the courts to handle a greater number of “smaller” criminal cases in coming years as more Muslim clients approach them. “All we are doing is regulating community affairs in these cases,” said Siddiqi, chairman of the governing council of the tribunal.

Source may be biased. I'm interested in the last part tho... The guy says he expects Sharia courts to handle some criminal cases in the future?

Just think how different the world would be without religion poisoning everything, certain countries such as Pakistan & Israel for example wouldn't even exist as they were set up entirely on the basis of separating one religion from another, millions have died & will continue to die until the parasitic cancer that is religion is finally extinguished.

Several posters have pointed out that all this Islamic medieval stuff doesn't belong in the 21st century & they're right because it's only 2010 by the Christian calender, right! ( altho most of the world abide by it to lessen international confusion seemingly)

The Hebrew calender puts their year into the future at year 5,770

However in the Islamic Hijri calendar currently it's the year 1431 which by our terms was the medieval period & perhaps this explains a lot - you work it out

Just think how different the world would be without religion poisoning everything

Then we'd all be killing people over all the other things we've killed people over.

Remember the most bloody massacres past and present are not religious in nature they are political/power driven.
