May I present... my latest acquisition! :)

Really? Even the handling? It's not a 45, different kettle of fish.

I like it. My favourite colour too. (I wouldn't actually buy one mind :p )

The Mondeo is so significantly better in every other department that a slight difference in handling isn't sufficient to warrant buying the MG, the Mondeo is not exactly a dog to drive either its quite good infact, the MG might be setup slightly stiffer, i don't know never driven one.

LOL, i assume you are taking the p? :p

Hmm someones back............

10 out of 10 for a first post!

Maybe I'm just trying to see thngs in a positive light? I've seen nothing but praise for the handling of them, thought that would be quite high on the list for a forum that likes its drivers cars.

Yes, the build quality is suspect, things are going to go wrong (although from what I've seen, Mondeos aren't exactly brilliant in this aspect either) but it drives nicely (I assume), will be easy on the fuel and it doesn't look like just another diesel car. Hell, he's getting rid of his "fun" car, might as well have something that's vaguely interesting. And it's £1800.

Oh that's useful.

Without wanting to seem pedantic or push the point, part of what I was also thinking was the ability to modify/improve etc?

I dunno, like XXX ecu gives this much improvement, but other ecu gives much better improvement? Or the car's handling improves dramatically if you change the springs to slightly softer etc.

Well thats a bit rubbish then, i see no reason for him to buy this car, it makes me sad and to be honest i think the money would be better spent on a packet of crisps, i mean it is worth more in the first place and more likely to hold its value

*sings*

Guess who'se back .. back again .. Guess who'se back Guess who'se Guess who'se back.

Indeed but I've sat and been driven in one though, other than how it drives (which i've already said i don't know), i still feel i can comment on everyother aspect of the car, (how its built, ride quality, comfort, equipment levels, looks, reliability etc) :)

The only thing i've said ref the handling is the MG in TDI form can only offer a slight difference over the mondeo, i come to this conclusion because the mondeo is a very accomplished car to drive (within this sector), and i'd be very shocked if an MG with a boat anchor in the front will feel a million times better to chuck around.

Fair enough, good points. Didn't know Mondys were so cheap these days, madness! The one in the link looks good for the cash :)

Different strokes for different fokes, you like Rovers / MG's and in many ways i like my Passat, if i posted a thread about my car i would get a similar response to your Ti etc.

Clearly the Rover is going to fit quite a few of your needs and its a much better option than the Ti was for you, which is the main thing i suppose, so job done in many respects.

Balls, or stupidity? ;)

That said the car in my sig has cost absolutely thousands upon thousands in repairs and maintenance (probably around £5-£6000 in the 2 years i have had it), i cant talk about reliability :p
