May i sum up CES 2017?

So you watched The OA multiple times? It's not Netflix's fault you're not interested in good content or that you don't have any real taste... Saying there is no content because you don't want to watch it doesn't mean there isn't any 4k content. What a silly thing to say.

I just think you and others have a different opinion of how much content is loads which is fine, personally there isnt that much content of 4K on netflix or Prime for me to keep watching, to me 79 titles on Netflix (some of them are not even proper series/Movies to watch like the one where its just a fire burning) is not a lot of content. Now dont get me wrong it is increasing all the time and there is some amazing series on there like Marco Polo i think is in 4K that is brilliant. i guess its just a matter of what you think is a lot compared to what i think is a lot.

Lovefilm by post 1080p Blu-ray (45mbs) rental is probably a fair bit higher quality than Netflix 4K too i will stick to it instead of netflix so all this HDR is humbug to me too sigh. Also not seen it mentioned but 1000 nits is no where near enough. I saw it quoted by a professional who stated HDR is nothing until you have a 4000nit Dolby Pulsar display and UHD Chappie Blu-Ray. Things dont just appear "bright" with HDR which is how ive seen it demonstrated. HDR is infact the abillty to keep an image exactly how it looks as it would now when calibrated to D6500K Gamma 2.2 etc the difference is if there is a sun or bright light source in the picture.

Now with the magic of per pixel lighting and HDR everything stays the same but ideally the sun should have a blinding effect. In reality this is not going to be seen until CES 2018-2019 in monitors. So no 1080Ti no proper HDR still no Intel Optane so basically nothing as of right now sigh. Even the Nintendo Switch looks rubbish :(

What would be the point of luminance so high that's it blinding? It might be realistic but I don't want to a really be squinting at the sun whilst trying to watch a movie

yeah, I don't see the logic in that either.

I haven't got time to watch TV 24/7 so there's been enough for me.

I won't complain when everything is 4k/HDR with a higher bitrate though.

well, I am streaming an average of about 300 gb / month, sometimes more. Time is not an issue, the lack of content is ... for me anyway.

Played the Resident Evil 7 demo tonight on the PS4 Pro with HDR enabled.

There's boarded up windows that the light comes through, and on my TV (B6V OLED) those were so bright that I almost had to squint slightly

So god knows what 4000 nits would be like.
