Their kids would have been perfectly safe if the abductor hadn't have broken in.
I heard the room was unlocked.

Either way, sorry but leaving your 3 year old kid alone in a hotel because you want to go to a restaurant is idiotic.

There you have it.

Assuming that is what happened - would it still have happened if the parents were there?

Possibly. Impossible to know.

I heard he got in through the window - shrug. Its not as if the restaurant was miles away - it was what? 50 yards away from the room.

They said they checked on the children every 30 minutes or so - while they were clearly wrong to do it, its not exactly the crime of the century, or even a crime imo.

They were I think, not sure.

What strikes me as rather odd ( apart from most of the stuff already posted ) is that they left their children again , with a family friend to go and see the pope i think or go on their travels.

After all that has happened i can't believe they'd leave their remianing children out of their sights!

When I was 6 I had an asthma attack and had to go to hospital. My Mum and Dad left my two younger sisters with my grandma and took me to hospital. Whats the problem?

Was that after one of your other siblings had been abducted though ?

My problem being that after all that has happened I can't believe they left them again, ok it was with other people, but i can't see the logic in that.

The point was, that in a time of crisis, you drop everything, even your other kids (obviously not literally) to look after the child that needs you.

Yeah right! Every parent i've spoken to would never leave their children alone if they were to lose one of them. They're not just items you can leave around! After one of your kids has been abducted you want to keep the others as close as possible!

The mentality behind that just makes me feel a bit I dunno, well it's just not right in my opinion.

It's alright here though, they're middle-class Doctors.

You have a valid point, if the parents were a 21 year old couple living in a run-down estate in south london would we have seen the same media attention? They'd already be having a court case I bet.

All said, i really hope she does get found, I don't really suspect the parents as being part of the abduction, I just find them rather odd. I certainly wouldn't think a pair of doctors could neglect children so badly.

Intelligence doesn't equal common sense - prime example.
