Agreed.
It may be partly that I live in the middle of nowhere, I don't have take away often anyway.
That being said, we have used Just Eat three times in my life, first time I was at my folks house in London, I set it up, ordered Chinese take away as I recall, this was several years ago.
Anyway food was fine.
Many months later I ordered some local take away (one of the few in "range") and turned up, again ok.
Checked my credit card a few days later, not in particular to this, but noted my credit card hadn't been charged. I text my mother in London and apologised as I had assumed I had used her credit card for the previous order, and it had used the same details again and charged her card.
Anyway, few months later, order some food, checked really carefully, and it was my card details on there, ok I thought....
Ordered some food this time they buggered up the order and delivered a pizza the Mrs couldn't eat. Went onto the online chat thing to be told that the contract is between the restaurant and you, despite just eat take your money at point of sale, it is in the T's & C's, which imo is VERY shady.
After really arguing with them they eventually agreed to refund the value of that pizza.
Anyway checked my credit card statement for the refund and nothing, noted I'd not been charged either.
Ive come to the conclusion it actually was my card details on there for all three ordered and yet never been charged, no idea why.
Anyway because of those shady terms, I've never used Just Eat or any other delivery service again, but I guess I got three lots of take away for free.

The very definition of fast (but expensive) junk food suggests the purchasers are idle, and or disorganised. Add in having it delivered by some stranger with sanitary habits one can only imagine, with the opportunity to interfere with the delivery, suggests an even more laisssez faire attitude to what you eat.
The only good thing is the company hasn't succumbed to providing only Halal food to those that would not want to embrace the practices of slaughter involved. As someone who thinks immigration is out of control it would be wrong for me to knowingly use companies who use large numbers of them, so if practical, I don't.

I did think the same thing about McDonald's food not been very hot these days though, Even when you've had to wait because there's none ready to go so its freshly cooked, Still not very warm!
Probably because some dufus burnt their mouth on the food and put a claim in, Someone did that with Greggs and now mostly all of their stuff isn't very warm, The drinks are terrible. Its like the kettle had boiled 20 mins ago
I wish they'd keep those on menu all year round, Yummy!

I don't remember that. It was their watery cola that you'd always be in and out of the toilet like a race horse.
The last time I remember having and being inside a McDonalds was 2001 or 2002 and I still remember it being plastic garbage. It was great for a quick lunch during college. The chips were thin and hollow with nothing but gritty salt. Flat glossy rolls and plastic processed cheese.

Mcdonalds is the worst culprit for the temperature of the food but the more I think about it now there does seem to be a trend of serving luke warm food in almost all the fast food outlets and legal claims could very well have been the reason why they stopped serving hot food/drinks. It's almost as though they must leave the food out to cool down after cooking before it goes into the display or the food goes through a blast chiller for a while and then gets put in warming drawers/hot cupboards etc. KFC is probably the only outlet where the food (chicken) is at a decent temperature/hot most of the time.
Anytime I fancy a proper takeaway I always place a phone order and ask them how long it will take to prepare so I can arrive to collect soon after they've cooked the food and ensure it's piping hot. The problem with most good local takeaways across the country now is they don't open until the evenings so if you're hungry during the day and not at home you're stuck with the 4 main fast food outlets and Maccy Ds rules the roost coz there's so many of them everywhere now with drivethrough lanes so you don't even need to get out of your car or go inside to order.

If you're happy using these types of companies to handle/deliver your food that's totally your choice. Doesn't affect me.
