McDonalds

I don’t bother going to my local McDonald’s in the evenings as it’s just rammed with delivery drivers waiting for orders. They have all their orders lined up just waiting to be picked up but nobody seems to take them, food must be stone cold by the time it’s delivered.

Uber Eats has killed McDonald's. Huge orders going out in the till area, a whole table area cornered off for Delivery drivers to sit in.
Takes ages in the drive through.

The food has got worse because they changed their process. Back in the day when I worked there, everything was freshed cooked off the grills and placed in a hopper to be kept warm, you cooked amounts based on times of the day and how busy you were. It did lead to food being thrown after 20mins.

Now they must not like that sort of loss, as they cook the burgers and then keep them in a heated draw and wait till you order something before making it specifically.

The DBL Quarters I used to make would be dripping in grease. It tasted amazing. Now they're just dry.

I can't imagine eating something bought from McDonalds. There was a great burger bar up the road from me called Grubbs Burger and they used to make some of the best burgers and shakes. They were unable to weather the lockdowns and closed during Covid. I've not eaten take away since before Covid.

Those were the days, ive been there as well a good 20 years ago. Making 18 cheeseburgers in a minute like a boss

I agree about ubereats tho. Absolutely killed them with the wait times.

If you've got minced beef in your fridge...you could make the best burger ever according to your own preferences within 5 minutes.

.... :p
I'm semi-retired and living my end of days on quite a substantial inheritance bank balance.

FYI..

Ummm ... you have the knowledge and the time and money .... why not make your own burgers instead ?

Got to agree with the general sentiment here. Only use a McD's when there's no other choice.

Most times if I want a burger I will just buy some decent lean mince from the supermaket and add flavours and cook at work/home.

Or being a rebel and making 6 Macs in one go rather than the allowed 4.

Fun times working there in my teens. Also a great precursor for a good career.

I can't imagine a process where the meat is staged in the heat drawers like the chicken was. Yuk!

I agree, it was a load of fun and i made some good friends. As for you being a rebel...6 isnt being a rebel...try 8.

I remember having to do a 16 hour day because a colleague was cleaning out the fryers, wasnt looking and put his hand in one that was full...
