McDonalds

Uber Eats has killed McDonald's. Huge orders going out in the till area, a whole table area cornered off for Delivery drivers to sit in.
Takes ages in the drive through.

The food has got worse because they changed their process. Back in the day when I worked there, everything was freshed cooked off the grills and placed in a hopper to be kept warm, you cooked amounts based on times of the day and how busy you were. It did lead to food being thrown after 20mins.

Now they must not like that sort of loss, as they cook the burgers and then keep them in a heated draw and wait till you order something before making it specifically.

The DBL Quarters I used to make would be dripping in grease. It tasted amazing. Now they're just dry.
I used to love a double cheeseburger and now they are made to order they're just dry and frankly, crap.

The situation with McDonald's is the same here; packs of Lieferando and Mjam riders waiting for orders.

Food delivery is massively popular here; no Uber Eats, but the other two players mentioned above are prolific.

I sometimes stop by McD on the way home from work when I'm knackered and consider mediocre food and mediocre coffee better than making anything myself when I get home.

At least half of the orders are for delivery drivers, but my local McD seems to handle that adequately. My mediocre food arrives quickly enough. I always have my Kindle with me, so I'll just read while I'm waiting anyway. I couldn't say if the food has got worse - it's always been mediocre, so it seems unchanged.

I suggest the McPlant vegan burger thing. It's mediocre veggieburger, which is probably better than mediocre beefburger. I prefer it to a big mac, although that's not much of an achievement. I'd also suggest speccing it without the "vegan alternative to cheese", which is an alternative to edible.

But if I can be bothered I'd rather go a little out of my way and wait a little longer for a takeaway slightly off my route home that cooks burgers from raw fresh for each order, on a griddle in front of you. McD is for "I am so tired I don't care at all".

I agree, it was a load of fun and i made some good friends. As for you being a rebel...6 isnt being a rebel...try 8.

I remember having to do a 16 hour day because a colleague was cleaning out the fryers, wasnt looking and put his hand in one that was full...
Our Mac bun toaster would only take 6 and we only had one :(

Now I feel let down.

Those toasters though..... Got a nasty burn on the back of my hand off the top plate of the 1/4 bun toaster. Took months to heal.

Also had a colleague do that, up to his elbow..... Rather silly!

When I womble on my own or group picks, it doesn’t matter how far we are from the nearest McDs, we always find McDs rubbish. Did one 15 miles from McDs and found several items.

Does eating McDs reduce people’s vision or mentality so unable to see/use a bin?

Same theory can apply to Red (Chav) Bull.

Would be nice to have a McDs and Red Bull free womble.

In Spain, I saw just one takeaway courier - Glovo. Was staying in Valencia, Spain’s 3rd biggest city.

If I was in our 3rd biggest city (Manchester), I would only need to be there for 5 mins to see one.

It just shows how lazy we as a nation are. Plus mainland European supermarkets have very little in the way of ready meals, convenient foods.

Required documents to become an Uber Eats driver:

EU/UK Driver's Licence. Front and Back.
Bank statement. dated within last 3 months.
Certificate of Motor Insurance. Must cover food delivery or hire and reward not excluding food delivery. ...
Photo ID.
Right to work in UK.

Yes I'm sure illegal immigrants can't provide all of that.

Actually there seems to have been quite a rise in uber-eat (et al) drivers "subletting" their accounts to friends/family.

Afterall the food place never performs any ID checks on the person picking up the food.

I agree with the OP. Who'd want a McDonald's that badly they'd offer take away service!?

I may be a little bit of a fast food snob though :D

yea UK in 10-20 years is going to make americans look slim...

All eating fast food junk and instead of walking riding scooters.

They need to put a health tax on fast food and those scooters now before the massive cost to the NHS starts.

What the **** happened to this place?
I don't go there very often coz I know it's just junk food but something has gone very wrong lately. Everytime I go there the food is almost stone cold or I have to wait for 10-15 minutes just to get sub-standard food.

There's always a bunch of migrants parked outside every store too working for uber-eats and other online delivery companies and these delivery firms seem to be given priority for orders....but I'm amazed that there are customers out there who are so lazy that they can't even drive to their nearest Maccy D's and get their own food and instead they need to have it delivered by scooter/car by some dodgy looking illegal migrants who spend their days living on car parks scratching their asses and picking their noses and generally being disgusting and unhygienic.
I used to at times get my mc ds delivered to me 15 years ago at my desk

I hope the OP enjoys Waffen down his Mcfries with his SS (stainless steel) knife and fork.

Burgers related:
I do enjoy a decent restaurant/Gastro burger, with my local country pub doing a game burger that is shot on the estate (the game, not the burger you Galah) and will now and then grab a McD, but have noticed in recent years that their patty has gone from a decent size (did anyone ever get a chance to try the Signature burger in a few selected stores, which was really good for the price) to something resembling cheap mince run over a few times by a 5 tonne roller.
