Are they air intakes to the rear wing, the red arrow at the rear an exit?

Nope ...

However, to ensure that it did not reveal the internal designs of the car, McLaren fitted the car with fake internals, including a plastic engine and exhaust, so that there was no chance of anyone catching a glimpse of secret innovations.

The only real thing we saw was the shape of the sidepods.

There's some arguement amongst the experts on twitter. Some saying McLaren will have the FEE, some saying there's not enough space around the sidepods to route it through, and there is a lot of space by the crash structure/diffuser, so it will be a standard EBD.

One does have to wonder if a vertical mount is a more efficient decapitation device than the horizontal nose wing effort Arrows ran at Monaco a while back.

Although to be fair the cockpit head protection is 25 years ahead of it's time!

nice to see them doing something different compared to the other teams. That front wing is very nice,

anyone think this is subliminal advertising by merc? The side pods have got a bit of an SLS AMG thing going on :D (i joke)

Latest rumours are that the stuff under the engine cover is plastic :o.

Looks more like the exhausts are Alumide rapid prototyping.

That picture clearly shows the oil rad (gearbox probably, possibly combined with hydraulic oil), that is fed by the extra duct on the back of the roll hoop, and the exit for it.

All the info about how the exhaust, gearbox, intakes are 75% false because it's all plastic under the hood to fake what will be the correct layout when the proper car is rolled out the garage for the next test but i really loved how the exhaust exited the rear which made it looked so sexy but it's not the final design :(.

Tyrrell X wings could kill the mechanics in the pitpane too. :D

Oooh - forgot the uglyness that was the Arrows A2
