Men using sun beds

if you suggest that it is completely unneccessary then how come all the companies who make such products are still thriving?

Because people have fallen for the claptrap that is advertising. Using shaving foam after you've had a shower is fine, slap on a bit of acid and away you go!

maybe works for you, maybe not for other people. Wont labour this any further. Getting very off topic

maybe you aren't aware that every guy is different and skin types differ so different people require different methods of making their skin look and feel as good as possible.

What I'm saying is that moisturising after a wet shave is pointless, it makes no sense. You've just spent 5 mins moisturising it with the shaving foam and water.

It's like buying expensive vitamin rich shampoo if you're bald.

Because people get sucked in by marketing. Look at PG Tips, they announce that their tea contains theanine. People go mental, tearing it off the shelves. Despite it already being present in most teas and has been for years.

You're the same as the old women who buy all that anti-age crap to remove wrinkles from their skin, baffling you with unfounded science. The only thing you're getting is a big dose of Vitamin BS. :p

Also you dont seem to like the nutrients word but its a fact that they do exist in the skin so get over it.

Of course they exist in the skin. I said, they don't just leak out of your face or get sucked out during shaving, even if they did, your body doesn't need a tub of cream to replace it, the body can balance it's own moisture levels if you let it. :)

If you think the price of having a tan is worth cancer then yeah go ahead and use them.

I seem to remember reading that they are actually more dangerous than sunbathing normally under the sun without protection.

It helps the feeling of irriitation, especially if you have wiry stubble. Moisturiser makes it less red, sore and itchy.

You think it does, but it doesn't.

If your skin is irritated after a proper wet shave, its not because you haven't moisturised it's probably because you're slightly allergic to the brand of shaving foam you're using.

My skin isn't allergic to the foam I use, the problem is my stubble is extremely, extremely tough and wiry, and sometimes if i'm not very careful in shaving exactly the right way (which happens) then my skin gets irritated due to the razor burn, and using some moisturiser definately soothes it. But anyway just out of interest why are you making such a ridiculous issue out of it? You seem to be going a bit overboard in this thread. :)

iCraig why are you so certain your right you completely write off what people are telling you?

Moisturising cream DOES work, all through my teens my facial skin hasn't exactly been smooth as a babys bum, luckily I've never had many spots but the skin on my face does naturally get very dry, as in I'll get areas of white, dry flakey skin which doesn't look too good and if I rub really hard with my finger will drop off. Since I've been moisturising my face every day I no longer get any dry skin, but if I stop after about two weeks I start noticing dry skin again.

Because the majority of people who buy these products get sucked in by the supposed health benefits and marketing ploys. There was a show on Bravo not long ago about placebos. They gave 5 people a cream that they told them was designed to add vitamins to their skin and nails and generally boost their well being. In actual fact the cream they were given was made out of aqua, white colouring and a thickening agent. Basically nothing in it. Yet all 5 when asked said they felt better for using the cream and said they could tell their skin was healthier. 4 of them agreed that they would be prepared to use it day and night for a very long time. :o

Sounds like you simply have eczema? I'm talking about the people with nothing wrong with their skin but they apparently can't live without their bottles off puff-lotion. :D
