Men's Olympic Football Tournament ** spoilers **

Will be quite a fail if we let Bellamy walk away from Liverpool. Been the best player in both games so far.

It all depends on how big a part he's got to play. If he's on £80k per week as reported then if he's not able to play 70+% of our games then he's an expensive squad player.

Yep it was just an 'agreement' between Team GB and the English clubs that Euro players wouldn't be used, although Butland has been picked anyway.
I may be wrong but I think the Spanish season starts later than ours.

BBC saw sense and ditched that hideous sound effect that played everytime before and after a replay! :) \o/
Now all we need them to do is sort out the overlay graphics:
-3 lines of fat text permanently on screen to scores and time = fail. Put them all on the same line like normal football shows so it stays all up the top of the screen in the crowd.
-When a goal is scored some massive whacking great opaque box appears overlaying the pitch.

So basically it looks like this:

GBR: 1
UAE: 0
33:10 / 1ST

Middle 5th of screen where you can actually watch the bloody football.

GREAT BRITAIN....................................................................1
UAE...................................................................................0

Good job they made it that wide just so they can handle the inevitable 21345234523000243582834528811 - 1999999123983428338 scoreline eh?

Excellent news. I have a friend at the BBC and I jokingly asked him to get someone to take it off.

Anyway, I was there at both games today and it was one of the best days of my life. Great games. Uruguay got owned by Senegal, who are a rather scary bunch. Glad we got them out of our way.

The whole 'Can only play in one or the other' thing was only an English FA thing wasn't it?

It's not an actual stipulation of either tournament afaik

ahh i see but what will happen in the next olympics as i assume GB will have a footy team for that?

they would have to qualify right? and play well in advance as a team for qualification.

what will this do to the euro's?

The likes of Ramsey and sturrage will definetly wont be in team GB in 4 years as they will most likely be household named in wales/england and be too busy playing qualification matches on there respective countries.

Why the hell is there a team GB in olympics but not on cricket? football and rugby?

Either mate GB official on all sports or ditch it completely and let england/wales/scotland compete individually in every sport including olympics
