Men's shirts

I don't like TM Lewin/ Charles Tyrwhitt that much. I find the cuffs and collars are too big, and they are not slim enough - and I am not that slim (Stocky/ wide frame rather than fat tho ;) )

If you are near Stratford/ Shepherd's Bush Westfield, try Sacoor Brothers - Nice fit, nice materials (I have a white cotton one that is still super soft, even after a couple of dozen washes), and not that hard to iron. As a side note, their suits are OK - they look lovely in the shop and are quite well priced, but they don't tend to last that long in my experience as the wool they are woven from is too fine.

Other than that, I like Calvin Klein and Massimo Dutti shirts.

Also BUY A STEAM IRON! It will cut down your ironing time massively and your shirts will always have that just- pressed look :) A decent one can be had for £80 or so (Get a 4 bar one)

They aren't actually tailored shirts. just slimmer than their slim fit (which just aren't slim!). For some reason however, despite being the same material the cut means they are more expensive.

I get those too. The slim ones aren't even slim, like you say, I have to get the tailored one which is actually slim (and not even tailored).

I will try Charles Tyrwhitt next time since I work near Jermyn Street.

Don't rate Lewin shirts and m&s have gone down hill. CT is my fave for day to day business and my days of slim fit were about 20 years ago. Must have over 50 shirts much to my wife's dismay :)

Hawes & Curtis fit me the best, but are a pain to iron. Charles Tyrwhitt ones are easy to deal with and look OK, so usually there.

I tend to buy in the TM Lewin sales when they do 5x or 4x for £100 plus some discount codes so you are looking at about £20 a shirt. However unless you get the non-iron ones they do crease like a bitch and pretty much have to be ironed (bearing in mind I'm the type of guy that tends to just hang shirts to dry and wear them straight off the hangar not worried about them being perfectly smooth).

Just checking my orders I got 5 shirts and 1 free tie for £68.85 first time, 4 shirts for £83.15 the second time.

I really should chuck out old shirts as I probably have about 15-20 smart ones (worn 4 days a week) and another 10-15 casual ones (worn 2-3 days a week). A real squeeze getting everything in the wardrobe (almost as much of a squeeze as me trying to fit into shirts I bought 6 years ago!)

Either M&S bespoke offering or tailorstore.co.uk I have a disproportionately large neck size that means off the shelf shirts are like a tent on me. You won't go back after having shirts made to your size and exact requirements re cuffs, collars etc. The only pain is having to plan so far ahead because of delivery times. Prices aren't that much more than the high street, especially if you wait for an offer.

^Austin Reed have nice shirts too but really depends on where you work. If you're around crap all day then you don't want a nice shirt worth a decent price getting crap over it every other day.

Cheaper prices (deals) in store than online usually too.

I probably have 20-30+ TM Lewin and Charles Tyrwhitt shirts, I'd say Charles Tyrwhitt edges it for me as they don't crease as easily. Pretty good value for money when they do their multibuy promotions. I'll probably buy 4-8 per year and donate the older ones to charity as styles (particularly collar styles) change very quickly.

Used to buy from Next but they messed up their product range (I used to like the tailored fit shirts from there but they discontinued that "fit").

Most recent ones were bought from TM Lewin which I'm very happy with so far.
