Door locks are usually a switch you need to flip or rotate with the key in the side of the rear door.
Found it! Two issues killed with the same stone lol..thought interior door handle on right hand side was broken but it was child lock on, then enabled child lock on other side. Thanks!

My E63S turns 3 years old on the 26th, so put it through its first MOT which it sailed through no problems. Got a warranty renewal notice, so logged in expecting a reasonable price as the E43 was very reasonable (about £460 for a year) and was quoted £1360 for a year  Surprised its such a considerable jump.

Good garage that, ive banded their name around a few times on here - wish i had similar for BMW and Porsche. Makes running any Mercedes a non issue.

Munich Legends are the go to for many in the south east. There’s another decent BMW specialist near me called Bennett Autos. Guy in there is very decent, and they have an ex BMW mechanic.

Always on time, good communication and have been cheaper than the initial quote on the two times I’ve used them, though likely unique to the situation I was in.

If it’s anything like my AMG before I traded it in parts had become more difficult and expensive to source from Germany.

Yeah, for that sort of money it’s a toss up between buying the warranty or putting the money aside, but as you say, parts are more difficult and more expensive to get so I will more than likely get the warranty.

That aside, I’ve been debating to chopping in the E63S for a Lotus Emira. I love the look of the Emira and its relatively good value. I don’t need a 4 door and the extra seats, the only problem that’s holding me back is that I park my car on the road. The E63 just looks like a German taxi so doesn’t draw any attention, whereas the Emiras looks might get it unwanted attention so might be more hassle than it’s worth.

New C Class AMG announced tonight at midnight. No event, just going to be posted on insta. Looking at the teaser image they posted, it looks more like the C43, which would make sense them not making a fuss about it. Can't see them not doing a live reveal like they did for the SL for a car as important as the C63 to the AMG brand.

My Merc is in having an annual service and a recall done this week. Collecting it on Friday. Gearbox oil change and brake fluid change this time too.

I thought the new C Class would only have 4 cylinder engines including in the AMG models? If you're hoping for a V8 then you may be disappointed.

It's been common knowledge for about 2 years that this C63 is going to be a 4 cylinder engine, basically the same as the A45S with a hybrid element to it

I did have the disappointment of seeing one drive around when I went to Affalterbach and the AMG factory. It sounded as naff as you'd expect compared to the current C63, but surprisingly good for a 4 cylinder engine.

Should be a V8 really, seems odd to go 4 cylinder at the end of the ICE era. BMW managed to stick with their 6 cylinder engines and hardly any 4 cylinder engine has sounded good, maybe the odd VTec and Twin Spark or BDA/BDG back in the day.

The 2L Twin Spark in my old 156 had a nice warble to it.

The warranty on my E is up at the end of the year.

What are peoples thoughts on swapping the car, buying the warranty, or just YOLO'ing without warranty?

I guess big bills could come up - it has air ride. It is relatively low mileage though (almost 13895 miles) and typically only enjoys longer trips on v power.

I have considered an X3M but I imagine they'll be on the slightly older side of things; and the Merc SUV type cars are mostly out of budget.

Hmm

How much is an MB warranty? If you are planning on servicing it at MB, then you might as well get the warranty. If you're going to use a good indy, I'd take a punt without a warranty.

What engine?
