mercedes / pirelli tribunal thread

Does Nico suffer from the same issue? Honestly.... Is it really an issue with the car, or is it the driver?

It's not the car or driver it's the way the cylinders are setup(ALREADY SAID) Lewis has always been a late breaker
he does not trust the car to stop as we seen in Canada on his last pole run.

He will get there. It's not unlike button could not get heat in to his tires so they gave him LMs brakes
and Button couldn't hack it so he went back to what he knows.

Another 3-4 races and he will be there. And as Button said.
"Lewis Hamilton pace will 'shock you all'

So are you saying that all of the normal sensors were turned off and there was no telemetry between the car and the pits? You do know that modern F1 cars cannot be run in that way...

No, I said that no EXTRA sensors could be used in the Pirelli/Merc test. I was thinking more along the line of those aero testing devices we often see would be allowed for the young driver test but would not have been wanted by pirelli at their test. Mercedes was only supposed to get the telemetry crucial for running the car without it exploding, but even if they got the full onboard telemetry the use of extra sensors for aero makes the young driver test much better telemetry wise

OK, so shall be stupid some more then... If he hasn't mastered his breaks yet, then by surely running 500km in the car, it should allow him to home his late breaking style with the breaks of the car?

Am I being utterly retarded in thinking that Lewis had a lot to gain from the Testgate running?

Lewis has no confidence in stopping the car, when he thinks it should stop it doesn't.
and add the modulation\stiffness of the pedals the feel\retardation of the brakes ect He had the same problem at McLaren.

I don't know but I don't think Pirelli would have let him wreck a set of tires every lap :)

My favorite bit

"Mercedes will not appeal"

No ****ing **** they won't.

:D

The punishment seems to be missing the mark by a considerable distance. I feel for the drivers in the Mercedes Young Drivers program. There's already a talent shortfall down the grid, and this won't exactly help that.

I do like how you don't mind Jensons words when you think it make Lewis look better :D :p

He would hardly say different as in his mind he fared well against Lewis.

He fared better, he beat him. :)

No he never and you know it. Also you throw that about all the time only to shown up.

Lewis BEAT button 2 seasons to one. I will wait for your normal come back post.(it's getting old now) even older the button))

I'd say beating your team mate on points over three years is doing better than him. Isn't achieving more points than anyone else the objective of Sport?

I will admit that Lewis beat Jenson hand over fist when it came to Qualifying, everyone knows that. But then there are no points for Saturdays, and it's all well and good having the ability to be fast over a single lap but if you haven't got the race craft (race craft meaning being able to avoid trouble for one thing) to back that up then it's almost a worthless attribute.

Points/results aren't carried over between seasons. Lewis finished higher in the standings than Jenson did in two seasons out of three. Nothing more to be said. He also out qualified him substantially and was clearly the faster driver of the two.

Ive said this before in another F1 thread, but if given the choice ( money no object) between Jenson and Hamilton driving for their team, do you seriously think any team principal would choose Button?

Remembering the fact that Jenson had to get to grips with a completely new car / team etc. in his first season... whilst Lewis knew all the ins and outs already.

Credit to Jenson as well I don't seem to remember him making a big deal out of this point either.

Lewis is demonstrating to us quite comfortably how hard it can be to adjust to a new team and car and he's been very vocal in outlining how difficult it is for him to adjust.

People always go on about the same thing with Jenson saying he complains about the balance etc. all the time but I don't remember him making excuses about having to adjust to a new car and team, unlike Lewis this season.

He just got on with it with a comprehensive disadvantage.

Once he'd adjusted to the car and team he destroyed Lewis in 2011.

Lol. Your love for Jenson knows no bounds :D

You should send him a letter.

1) why are you quoting your own posts?
2) the only thing button ever destroyed was an unborn child ;)
3)I know the brits like backing the losers but you're taking it to far.

Hehehe.

I think Brits love to back underdogs.
Once the Brits have a genuine winner (or No.1), they tend to turn against that sportsman/team.

You only have to look at the flack which Vettel cops on this forum - the man who has broken records, won more points, more poles, more races, more podiums, more WDCs, etc etc in the last few years than any other driver -and people still question his ability.

The comments on the BBC website also tend to berate Vettel's efforts. And generally every F1 article on BBC website turns into a Button vs Hamilton argument.

People question his ability because he's never had to overcome a bad car. He's always had what most people will agree is the best car for the past few seasons. And he's German.
