Metal Gear Solid Games

Loved MGS1 way back on the ps1 i must have finished it about 7 times :)
I was so excited when i heard they were making MGS2 i was so excited just looking for every piece of info and pics i could find. When it finally got released i wasnt disapointed at all, i finished it more that the original.
MGS3 what can i say, its the best one out the lot but for some reason only finished once. I own the gamecube version of MGS1 i might play through that again, will it work on my wii?

MGS3 was definately my favorite, i love the setting being in Russia in the cold war. the story was great, the items were cool, some were great fun to use on the guards, specially snakes and spiders lol. and the weapons were pretty varied. the graphics werent half bad either. i wish a MGS would come out on the xbox.. i dont wanna fork out 400 for a ps3 just for one game. :(

Didn't MGS2 come out on the XBox?

Only played and completed one MGS game which was Twin Snakes on the GC, was pretty good.

Have to get round to finishing MGS 2 on the PC...

i loved 1 on psx, then loved the remake on gamecube (all it had was a graphic revamp and it was still awesome). 2 was awesome on ps2, i got 3 on ps2 but barely played it... is it as good as the others is it really worth playing??

i wont get mgs4 as the ps3 is well.....i could get a pc for that price

Is subsistence just a addon for MGS3 or is it the full game plus added extra's/options? And does it work ok on PS3?

substance for mgs2 and subsistence for MGS3 are both the exact same games, but they just added extra stuff, like mgs2 substance added VR missions and training and a few other stuff, Im not entirely sure what it adds on MGS3, but the main storyline is exactly the same except i here you can do a better 3rd person view.

MGS3 Subsistence also includes the original 2 MG games (the old NES/MSX ones) and it has multiplayer (but I think the official servers have already been shut down).

Hehe I have a fair amount of Metal Gear games but have only completed MGS on the PS1, just never managed to find the time to complete the others I have.

Metal Gear - NES (damaged cart, still works)
Snakes Revenge - NES
Metal Gear Solid - PS1 (US Import)
MGS The Twin Snakes - GCN
MGS2 Sons of Liberty - PS2
MGS3 Subsistence - PS2

I never really thought I was as big a fan as I am until I read this thread and checked the games in the cupboard. :D

I think that may only be in America? but i could be wrong.

Also Subsistance has all the cut scenes edited together to give you an 400 hour movie lol i jest i think it is about 5 hours.

Subsistance is worth it for the 3rd person camera.

Also some versions of MGS3 work on the PS3, some don't. My release day copy of MGS3 wont work, but later copies will. It goes by the SEL number on the spine of the box.

wow, might have to rebuy MGS3 for that movie, i only played it through once, remember it had a great ending though.

Fantastic graphics for PS2, mgs2 was developed in 1999/2000 and was released in 2001, and the graphics are still some of the best on PS2.
