wow, might have to rebuy MGS3 for that movie, i only played it through once, remember it had a great ending though.

Fantastic graphics for PS2, mgs2 was developed in 1999/2000 and was released in 2001, and the graphics are still some of the best on PS2.

yeah have to agree the ending was brilliant.

Also some versions of MGS3 work on the PS3, some don't. My release day copy of MGS3 wont work, but later copies will. It goes by the SEL number on the spine of the box.

So subsistance being a later version of MGS3 (?) should work ok on PS3. What SEL number should one look for? cheers.

tbh it should just work fine.

There is one moment in all of the metal gears that just makes me :D so much

that part in 2 where snake is in handcuffs and ray is about to jump off arsenal
snake struggles to stand then rips the handcuffs apart and dives into the sea with ray in one of the most cinematic and cool moments of all entertainment

its my favourtie part of anything ever

it just shows you how pro solid snake really is

"Liquid!...stop this thing!"

urgh!

you get a glimpse of that moment in this video

go to 3:38 and wait a couple of seconds.

haha, lol its nice to see someone else who likes mgs2 as much as i do.

It really is just like, well, perfect! The only way I can describe it is cinematic poetry.

I've never liked something so much. Well maybe Star Wars.

Am I a geek now :(

You should watch Oldboy. :)

I've only ever played and completed MGS1 on the psx  Definately one of the best games of all time imo. I never had a PS2 but I do have a PS3, and I will get parts 2 and 3 hopefully soon :)

Which should I go for? I'm seeing these 2...

MGS 2: Sons of Liberty
MGS 3: Snake Eater

then there is MGS 3 : Subsistence?

Whats the difference between snake eater and subsistence? Is there another version to sons of liberty aswel or is that the only MGS 2?

Finally, do they work on the PS3 with the latest update??? :)

Play them all, play them in order too.

MGS, MGS2, MGS3.
Subsistence versions have a little bit extra on them.

I would recommend NOT playing MGS2, it's not that great. If you really want something relevant to the series as well as a lot of back history then play MGS1, then Snake Eater. MGS2 is just an abberation in the series to me, and it looks like Guns of the Patriots will hardly touch on the events seen in it except for the character Raiden and Liquid Ocelot.
