Metro Last Light - Thread

I may be amongst the minority here but I felt a little underwhelmed by last light maybe I was expecting a little too much after playing 2033, last light felt just more of the same stuff and nothing really that much different from 2033.

I'm still playing through 2033 and can't get over how linear it feels in many places. People interactions dotted around are nice and the graphics are nice as well.

I'll wait until Last Light is on special offer I reckon having seen and read most things about it.

About £20 i'd price Last Light at, so £15 less than what it currently is.

Likewise, much better than metro 2033 for me. The one thing that I like over metro 2033 is the guns actually work! Unlike metro where it just felt like I was firing rubber bullets the entire time.....

Also finding the whole gun/game play/feel far better too.

the fact i don't know whether i'm selecting my grenades, throwing knifes etc annoyed me a lot

You do know, you have to use the sound notification initially and then it's just memory, it's quite easy really.

Hardcore specifically says it removes all HUD elements, you are complaining about the fact that it does what it says it will.

I didn't get on with 2033, it bored me pretty early on... Just felt... Average.

However, mate bought this for me on Steam out of my choice in hopes to return a favor... Booted it up and actually got gripped by it! I had to force my self to turn it off otherwise I would have stayed up!

Will certainly need to give 2033 a try again I think.

Played through the campaign on hard difficulty, will be going through ranger hardcore soonish.
Really enjoyed the atmosphere and overall difficulty, some things here and there could be polished but overall a very enjoyable experience. Beat it without rushing into anything in around 9 hours.

I didn't read it because i assumed it did the same thing as it did in Metro 2033, as 2033 had a Ranger Normal and Ranger Hardcore mode too, but it seems Ranger Normal is what Ranger Hardcore is in 2033, as i stated before, hence why i started again on Ranger Normal.

I couldn't get on with Last Lights Ranger Hardcore version.

I have just got to the catacombs but getting wierd gfx rendering issues....i know it's not my card either as other games are working fine and using 320.14 drivers did any other Nvidia users here encounter issues?

Edit: After searching around it seems having Tessellation set to Very High can cause such issues.

Just been playing this with 3D vision, it's incredible, all those effects like blood/water on the mask and the spiders on the webs look amazing. Shame it hits the fps quite a bit on very high settings. It's still playable but not silky smooth like it is with it off. Changing to the new beta driver helped a bit.
