For me this is why Hamilton frustrates. The petulance seems to take over his ability. I'd would hope he would be driving the wheels off the car to pass other cars, but it seems he just loses his mojo when all goes wrong. Od

What?

I'm leaning towards deliberate tbh now. Vettels onboards show the contact with Verstappen breaking his front wing, then doing a cowabunga into Hamiltons wheel with the damaged wing to ensure that they'd both be at the arse end of the track.

vettel should manage 40 laps on ultras, depends how much racing he does. verstappen and bottas have been in clear air to get 33 laps. vettel has overtaking to do.

Yep. It's pretty clear.

Fastest way to the end was a 1-stop, which means 70 laps on the soft.

Now the VSC has come out he can push a bit.

A combination of a car not 100% and a track that isn't great for slip streams is more likely.

The Mercedes is so awful at following cars, guess they set the car up for leading

Except all the times it follows and passes just fine. Passed Vettel and verstappen in Cota just fine.

Here don't forget Ham was stuck behind a Sainz who appears to have been running engine higher or maybe burning out his tires judging by the speed he's dropping backwards all of a sudden. Vettel was passing Saubers, Haas's (which were getting out of the way), etc. Sainz is in a much faster car and Hamilton was stuck behind him having DRS himself. But DRS/slipstreaming is pretty damn ineffective here anyway.

Stop using odd situations to make grand statements, because there are plenty of races Hamilton sticks within half a second lap after lap of the car ahead without issue then making the pass.

Hamilton would almost certainly have damage to the diffuser and floor around the rear tire. They literally run 3-4cm of gap between the tire and bodywork. It would be a near miracle for him to not have damage.
