How did Vettel end up so far ahead of Ricciardo? Didn't Vettel pit as well?

What place did Ricciardo pit from?

Ricciardo is now about 23 seconds down, not sure how long a pit takes here compared to elsewhere, probably quite bad considering the straight and how slow you'll be down the rest of that long straight.

So while most look like they'll two stop Ricciardo will gain 10-15 seconds by doing one under the VSC/SC.

Verstappen just now 22seconds in the pits but probably lose another 2-3 seconds down the straight.

I don't think it's going to work out great for him unless the mediums work great and last well.

Yeh. Also he's on softs so couldn't have pitted. They'd have picked mediums.

Meh, this is Ferrari, quite often when everyone else is good on mediums Ferrari still use the damn softs for no reason. They are weird about using mediums and I think have done extra stops at a couple of tracks to avoid them.

verstappen behind ricciardo. and ricciardo on pace with leaders now.

Yup, it's not as bad as people think, but Ricciardo will end up doing significantly longer on both stints than everyone else, or maybe just one very long stint on this set and a normal length stint at the end. Either way I'd expect Verstappen has a pretty major tire life/performance advantage now.

Jesus, Sainz, only just saw the replay, that is seriously bad and stupid driving.

Ricciardo is going to come out of the pits just behind Rosberg(maybe) but he's going to have the full straight of acceleration while Rosberg will be coming out of the pits slowly... end of the straight could be interesting.

EDIT:- RBR think they have him, the difference is that Rosberg will be on significantly fresher tires, I don't think he'll have that much problem catching and passing him.

Rosberg is laping faster at the moment though. Just about. But how many more laps can he stay out? He's going to lose more ground to Lewis
