Moderately entertaining race at the new Dollar General Monaco (Yanks don’t have Poundland).

Track surface and several corners did look like Edmonton B&Q Carpark.

Any news on what was up with Perez‘s car? It definitely didn’t have its early pace later in the race.

There was a sensor issue on the car which they managed to bypass during the race but it ended up putting him about 25Hp down on power

I don't necessarily disagree with that but lately he chooses not to make calls on pit strategy and then complains about others not making decisions for him. Going on fresh(er) tires would at least give him chance on the track which as a racing driver you'd think he would prefer to have.
He would have end up losing more postions and not have enough time to make them up also I think they couldnt stack pit stops when George went in, imo they shouldnt have asked him they made the right call yeah it hurt Lewis the team ended the best positions they could have things are just not going for him ,

Comments everywhere about Russell pulling a strategy masterstroke are ridiculous.

It was literally the only strategy he had, and it entirely relied on when a safety car might come. If the hards were holding up, there, was no reason to pit.

If the safety car appeared earlier in the race he would have been *****. The safety car appeared at probably THE optimum time for George. Just before his hards dropped off/before he had to stopped/when he likely needed to stop anyway.

aye it was pure luck its just fine margins and is getting the breaks , I guess doing poorly in qualifying was done on purpose so he could start on the hards and planned for the safety car at that stage :D

I think it came out like five laps after his radio call to “wait and see if there’s a safety car” no? :p So yeah, couldn’t have been better timing.

I think we all need to put this Russell/Hamilton thing to bed. There’s no sense getting baited by a vocal minority like Locky in every single thread.

Yea there is no beef between Russell and hamilton.

Let it be and even if Russell finished with more points this whole season, it dont mean **** until Russell can go anywhere near Lewis's 7 titles...

Very entertaining race, Russell pulled a blinder, Verstappen seems to be a much more mature driver after winning a WC and gutted for Norris. What on earth was Gasly thinking by coming back onto the track with a wounded car then meander in the middle of the track?
Schumacher needs to up his game..

Yes but he could have moaned about the tyres, come in earlier etc.
Plenty of wrong or 'unlucky ' choices could have been made, at the end of the season we will see who has been consistently 'lucky'.

Let's see how he acts if/when it's close at the final stages of the season. His driving at Jeddah last year was absolutely disgusting, and it's not exactly ancient history yet.

Sidenote, he's definitely been told to be more friendly on camera. It's so obvious. RB finally realised that Checo (bless him) hasn't got much charisma, and Max is.. well Max. Face like a slapped **** most of the time. Wins can get you some sponsorship, but you actually have to be somewhat likeable as a team too :o

Quite George took the risk, Lewis has done the same before and it has been called inspired..

Well we can only judge him the way he's currently driving. I don't possess a crystal ball.
I never said you did  He also wasn't that mature in race one or two (? I forget) where Leclerc kept letting him pass then regaining the position with DRS immediately. Sounds like it took the garage to point that out to him, upon then he did the same and made it stick. So I'm just gently disagreeing with you, is all. Like I said, we'll soon find out towards the end of the season.
